hi, i've been doing extensive research into the fictional town of beacon hills and found some useful info i'm going to be utilizing throughout this story!
first, here's a map of the city that seemed pretty accurate based on the info i found of where things are located!

second, the info i found online about beacon hills said it's supposed to be located about three-ish hours north of san fransico on the fictional state road 115 that lies between real-life state road 1 and us route 101
for those interested and want to look it up, i imagine it to be around where the unincorporated town branscomb, california is located
also for this storyline to make senseーthe oc willa is 21 (almost 22), the same age as derek. this story starts in january of 2011, so scott and stiles' first day back to school is actually just the first day back after winter break. (i looked up lacrosse season and it's actually in the spring so idk if that's actually canon or not). willa left beacon hills in 2005 when she was 16, making it approximately 6 years since she's been in town. (whereas derek left in late 2004 when he was 15).
