Wednesday sat at her desk typing away on her typewriter, adding yet another chapter to her novel. Enid left a few hours ago to go shopping with Yoko, Wednesday had been making quite a bit of progress today, with all the silence. She couldn't help but miss her noisy roommate a bit.

Thing crept up to Wednesdays desk and tapped her arm, drawing her attention down to him. 'Aren't you going to get ready for the dance? You don't even have a dress' he signed.

"Oh, yeah." Wednesday stood up, grabbing her backpack and allowing thing to hop inside as she made her way to the town of Jericho. She wandered through the street until a beautiful black, lace dress caught her attention. She walked inside the store, and made no hesitation buying it. As she left she saw Enid and Yoko leaving the Weathervane causing Wednesday to quicken her pace in order to avoid the two girls, she did not want Enid seeing her out here, especially with the dress she will be wearing for her later.

Wednesday reached Ophelia hall once again and hung her dress in her closet, carefully. Her entire closet was black and white. Thing sat on her right shoulder, tapping her and signing 'shes going to love it, you're going to look so beautiful!'

"I do not care what she thinks, Thing." Thing sighed.. in his own way, considering he is just a hand.

Enid walked into their dorm cheerfully, looking at Wednesday and Thing who seemed to be having a mini argument.

"Hey guys!!"

Wednesday turned and faced Enid, her expression blank.

"Hello, Enid."

"Are you ready for the dance tonight bestie!?"

"Do not call me that, and yes, I guess I am. Unfortunately."

"EEEE!!" Enid squealed, as she ran and hugged Wednesday quickly not letting the darker girl push her away since she was holding on so tightly.

"Enid... I can't-.. breathe." Wednesday choked out, while being suffocated by Enid.

"Oops sorry!" Enid said, letting go of the shorter girl and smiling.

"If you do that again you won't have anyone to go to the dance with.". Wednesday said threateningly.

"Aww no way! You're my date! There's no way you would ever bail on me!" Enid said, as she hopped around happily to her side of the room, grabbing her phone off the charger. "Now i'll see you outside the gym around 8? It's bad luck to see your date before a date!!!" Enid flashed a bright smile at Wednesday and left to go get ready with Yoko.

Wednesday sat down at her desk, looking up at the clock to check the time. She felt herself heat up. A date? This was not a date, right? The two were just going as friends, so why was Wednesday burning up? Enid had called it a date, but maybe she just meant it in a weird friendly way. Wednesday didn't care, she never cared about anything except for her family on occasion so why did she find herself caring for this brightly colored girl who was not very mentally bright at all. Wednesday sighed, as she walked to her closet, grabbing her dress. She had two hours before she needed to be there. No she did not "need" to be there, this was not a need, but a want. A want to see Enid happy, and smiling as they danced together, because Wednesday WAS going to dance with her. She knew Enid would not take no for an answer.

Wednesday slipped her dress on, and began working on her hair and her makeup, which was quick. She stared at herself in the mirror and looked down at Thing who gave her a thumbs up and signed something that meant 'You look great! Enid is gonna love it!!' Wednesday rolled her eyes, it didn't matter if Enid loved it or not. Wednesday doesn't and never has cared what Enid thought of her.

7:50 PM

Wednesday made her way down to the gym, sitting outside of it on a bench, as she glared at the people passing by her, who very clearly were creeped out by this. They'd avoid her, staying at least 3 feet away from her as they'd pass by. Wednesday enjoyed it.

Then she saw her, Enid. She was walking towards her with Yoko, Bianca and... ew Ajax following behind her. Wednesday was staring so much she didn't even realize she had begun to smile just a bit but quickly snapped out of it as Enid noticed her and began running towards her with a huge smile on her face.

Wednesday stood up, waiting for Enid to reach her.

"Hey!" Enid said, slightly out of breath. "You.. you look really pretty! I never knew black could look so good on a person!!" She winked at Wednesday which only made Wednesdays face turn a much darker shade of red. Enid couldn't help but smile at this. She took Wednesday's hand and dragged her into the very decorated gymnasium.

Wednesday did not pull her hand away when she realized that two girls' hands were intertwined, it made her smile slightly, but only for a second. Wednesday was overwhelmed by the terrible music blaring into her ears, but even with this unpleasantry Enid began dancing around stupidly while still holding Wednesday's hand. As she was standing there, the girls' hands still interlocked she admired the blonde girl who could not stop smiling at all.

As the song changed to something darker and more macabre, Paint It Black. Her favorite. She is rather excited by this turn of events. In the midst of listening to this song her body starts to move along to the melody as she sang the words, staring at Enid intensely. Enid stared in return, deep into Wednesday's eyes, entranced by her movements. She also had a realization that her voice was beautiful, it sounded pure angelic.

As the song ended Wednesday pulled Enid towards her, spinning her into a warm embrace and never wanting to let go. They make eye contact and get lost in each other, their surroundings fading away, leaving only them alone. Wednesday's breath hitched, as Enid did the unexpected. The blonde reached up and pulled the goth's face down closer to her and placed a passionate and warm kiss to her dark lips. Wednesday melted, she allowed herself to let go and indulge in this pleasure. She smiled against Enid's lips, a full real smile, as she kissed the cheerful girl back.

Lady Jane by The Rolling Stones began playing, and it felt all too coincidental.

When the girls pulled away from each other, Wednesday pulled Enid back in for another hug as she glared at Ajax behind Enid, giving him a threatening triumphant glare, and flipping him off to prove her dominance.

Wednesday pulled away from Enid. Neither of them mentioning what just happened, as everything was already communicated through the moment, their feelings already displayed to the other.

"Would you like something to drink?" She asked, back to her normal expressionless look as the terrible music was playing again.

"Sure!" Enid smiled.

"Alright, don't worry, I will not poison it...yet."

With that, Wednesday walked away and disappeared into the crowd, pushing them out of her way. Grabbing Enid a drink, as the lights when out. When the lights came back on, there were scattered screams throughout the now nearly desolate gymnasium. Wednesday's eyes widen as she makes her way back into the crowd searching for her beloved Enid. Noticing Ajax dead on the ground, people surrounding him, but before she could or say anything to Enid who she could see was crying. Principal Weems grabbed her and dragged her away demanding to speak to the goth girl in her office.
Wednesday had no choice in the matter, if she had she would've ran to Enid and embraced her.
