Third Person

The reception went smoothly. The invited guests were congratulating the newly married couple. Journalists were shuffling about trying to be the first to report the big wedding between Euphoric Empire and Stone Gold Enterprises.

Now the newly wedded couple was exhausted. Tired from greeting every random person that approaches. Speaking for both of them Diamond and Liam was tired of the fake smiles they gave to random people. Tired of smiling at the cameras for journalists to take. They were utterly exhausted.

Thank the heavens for giving a friend like Aya to Diamond. The first thing was Diamond was exhausted from being fake nice until a hand pulled her away.

"Hey!" Aya greets cheerfully.

Diamond beams and throws her arms around her friend.

"What a large wedding," Aya comments laughing slightly.

"I don't even know three-quarters of these people." She mumbles, sighing.

Aya pats her friend's shoulder sympathetically.

"Am I really married Aya? Am I Mrs Park or is this a dream?"

"It's real babe," Aya responds in a soothing voice. "You are officially a Park now."

"But I don't want this! I just want to go home and watch a crappy movie then pass out. I'm not ready to be a wife. Especially to someone I do not love."

Aya sighs shuffling about. "You know this might a good thing; Liam might help you heal and move on from your pain."

Diamond lifts an eyebrow. "Are you suggesting I forget Lionel?"

In fact, that is exactly what Aya was saying. For years she's been praying for Diamond to move on. For years she's been waiting for her friend to find her happiness. These past three years have been nothing more than hell for Diamond.

On her birthday Diamond hoped that Lionel would call but he never did. During the course, Aya saw her friend lose hope and all the fun for her birthday was ruined. That night, Diamond cried herself to sleep.

Aya misses her friend who would make ridiculous dad jokes. She missed her friend that would sing broken Korean lyrics. She misses happy and free Diamond. As soon as Lionel left he took Diamond's happiness with him. Diamond has become so guarded, she doesn't allow anyone in. Aya could clearly see how much Diamond was resisting letting Liam come close to her. It seems as if Diamond knew that there is a possibility of her falling for Liam but she kept on denying it. By denying it she's pushing Liam away. Aya hopes that Liam won't give up trying and at least be friends with her. She just hopes that Diamond realizes that there's nothing wrong with moving on.

It's quite understandable why she's still holding onto Lionel the guy told her to wait. But for how long? It's been years and Diamond is still miserable. Aya wants to help Diamond so much but she doesn't know how. She's just not speaking hypothetically but she also went through what Diamond is going through. After years of waiting, she finally found the courage to move on with her life. But Diamond hasn't. Her job right now is to just take care of her soulmate and she hopes Liam would too.

"Take into consideration that there might be other people interested in you. I mean I not telling you to fall for Liam but just be civil with him. Remember that he also didn't want this marriage either. Try and treat each other well." She instructs.

"We shall see how my lovely husband acts when the cameras aren't around." Diamond replies rolling her eyes.

Aya smiles satisfied, "Let's go back to the reception shall we? The bride can't disappear for too long on her own wedding."

Diamond throws a sarcastic smile at her friend. "Sure." She responds and interlocks her friend's arm into hers.

The two head back to the reception where people were too busy grooving to the music. Some definitely could not dance and it was quite funny. Diamond and Liam had to do a couples dance near the end. Diamond made sure to stay at arms length during the whole dance. Eventually, the reception ended and it was time for the newly wedded couple to go to their house.

Mrs Miller embraces her daughter. "I will miss you immensely my dear."

"I'll miss you too mom." She mumbles into her shoulder.

Mr Miller passes a warning look at Liam. "Take good care of her Liam."

Liam nods confidently, "Of course sir."

The parents wave their children off, watching the car fade off into the moonlight. It is now time for the couple to start afresh.
