Third Person

The ride to the house was silent. Music was softly playing on the radio. Diamond's head was facing the window, looking outside at the moving trees. For the past twenty minutes, she has been trying to distract herself from the aching coming from her shoes that were growing worse and worse with each passing second. She has been wearing heels since the wedding ceremony. Her feet were killing her. She kept on touching the soles of her feet, trying to massage the pain away.

Liam gazed over towards his wife and noticed her fidgeting. He stops at a corner and exits the car, leaving Diamond alone.

Am I about to get killed? She ponders.

Several seconds pass, and Liam returns with a box in his hands.

"Ms Olsen gave these to me. She mentioned how the shoes would become a problem after a few hours. Here." He explains, passing the box holding a pair of pumps.

Diamond smiled unconsciously at how thoughtful her friend was. She gladly accepts the shoes and puts them on. She mumbles a small thank you to Liam and goes back to face the window.

The car hits a soft jerk, signaling their arrival at their new home.

A gorgeous modern home stood proudly at the center of the large grounds. It wasn't large enough to be called a mansion, but it was somewhat close.

It was perfect.

"Our parents are something." Liam chuckles, shaking his head towards the big home.

Diamond turns her head towards him. "Isn't this your house?"

Liam shakes his head. "No. I lived with my parents. I didn't have a reason to stay alone in such a large house."

Diamond presses her lips together, remaining silent.

Liam raises an eyebrow. "Don't tell me you're one of those people who believe that I shouldn't be staying with my parents at my age."

"No." Diamond denies. "If I were that person, I would have moved out of my home a long time ago too."

Liam smiles softly.

"Come on, let's go explore our new home."

Our?

Diamond feels her stomach churning with uneasiness. They were alone. In such a huge house. No one would know what would be taking place in such a huge room, and Diamond felt a bit scared. She's moving in with a man she hardly knows. All alone in this house.

Diamond mutely follows behind the man who seemed to not know where he was going. They both ascend the starts and wait for a few seconds till Liam decides to take a random turn.

"Okay!" He says suddenly happy. "I found the bedrooms." He beams.

Diamond stops in her tracks. Bedrooms?

Do I have to share a room with him?

If she was to consider the unspoken rules of marriage, one that she knows well is that a married couple needs to share a room. Obviously, it depends on the couple and their personal preferences, but what if Liam wanted to share a room. He had every right to demand it. He was her husband, after all.

Husband. That word rings in Diamond's head, and she visibly shudders.

"The choice is yours," Liam announces.

Diamond looks at her husband. "Huh?"

"Choose which room you like. I'll go with whatever options remain."
