Scott's Perspective

The rest of the year went by quickly.

Scott seemed to like Jimmy more and more and he found himself warming up to Tom nicely.

Before he knew it, he was on the Hogwarts Express, returning home.

-

"Hey sweetie!"

Scott was tackled by his mother and father as he stepped off the steaming red train.

"Here, let me carry that for you." His father said, grabbing his trunk and almost sinking at the weight.

"Jesus, how many bodies did you put in here?" He joked and Scott laughed.

Scott put down Ember and hugged his mother back.

She was crying happy tears, "Aww dear, I'm so happy you're back. How was it? Did you have fun? Did you make friends?"

"Mom, I kept you up to date in my letters- "

"Oh, that's right!" She exclaimed, dabbing her eyes, "Where's Tom and Jimmy?"

Scott turned and looked around.

He saw Jimmy talking with his parents and Tom had walked up to him, his mother following.

"So you must be Scott." Tom's mother said, "I've heard so much about you. How are you?"

"Good, you?" Scott asked.

"Fantastic." She then turned her attention to Scott's parents, and they got in a conversation.

"Write to me, will you?" Tom asked Scott.

"Course!" Scott smiled before looking over at Jimmy.

"Walk up to him." Tom said.

"He's talking with his parents."

Just then, Joel appeared out of no where and started talking with Lizzie and her family.

Jimmy was left, rocking on his heels, back and forth.

Jimmy and Scott made eye contact and Jimmy walked up to him.

"You excited for summer?" Tom asked.

Jimmy shrugged, "Eh. Not really."

"Why?"

"I don't know what I'll do."

"Well." Tom said, "You got friends to send you some post."

Jimmy's face lit up and Scott blushed.

"James!"

Jimmy turned around and saw his father waving him over, "Come on! We're leaving!"

Jimmy muttered something that sounded an awful lot like 'bitch' but nodded.

"Well, see you guys." Jimmy smiled before running over to his family.

"Scott, dear, we have to go. Say goodbye to your friends." Scott's mother said.

"See you, Tom." Scott said, hugging Tom.

Tom hugged back, "I'll write soon."

-

"Hey Scott."

Scott stopped his quill and looked up at his father who was leaning on the doorframe, his arms folded.

He was wearing a kind smile.

It was later into the day and Scott's mother was making dinner.

"How're you doing? You've barely unpacked."

Scott looked over to his trunk which was opened on his bed.

He had only opened it so he could get his quill, ink, and parchment out.

His father walked over to his open window.

"You should close this, you're letting bugs in."

"Wait, Ember's outside."

"Why?"

"I wanted her to fly around. She likes to do that." Scott said, turning back to his letter, "And I want her to deliver this letter when she gets back."

"Who're you writing too? You got yourself a new boyfriend?" His father asked, laughing as Scott gagged.

"Tom's not my boyfriend. He's just my really good friend."

"Then why'd you hug him?"

"Because we're close! What, am I not allowed to hug my friends now?"

His father laughed and messed with his hair, "I'm just wondering. You haven't really told us anything- "

"I've told you everything in my letters. Quidditch, classes, everything you guys asked."

"But you didn't write much about the adventures you had."

"I didn't have many adventures."

His father raised an eyebrow.

"Really! I didn't! It was just a normal first year."

"Guys! Dinner's ready!" Scott's mother called.

Scott put the lid back on his ink and got up.

"I'm gonna go use the restroom."

Third Person POV (and BIG time skips bc I said so)

The summer was uneventful.

Since Scott couldn't practice with his wand, he mostly wrote letters to his friends.

Eventually, the letter from Hogwarts came, explaining the list of items he needed to buy.

And with that, school started again.

His second year.

Which was very uneventful.

Just classes and hanging out with Tom again.

It seemed as though the second year took no time at all.

And finally, he was in his third year.

But this time, it was different.

When Scott got his school letter, well there were two.

Scott's POV-

Scott opened up the envelope and saw the list of school supplies and a...permission slip?

What?

Scott read over the permission slip and a smile edged on his face.

Hogsmeade?! That sounds amazing!!

Scott practically ran downstairs.

"Here already? I thought they mailed the letters a day later last year." His mother said, seeing the letters in her son's hands.

"Why're you so excited?"

"Hogsmeade!" Scott exclaimed, showing his mother the permission slip.

She gasped, "Oh that's right! I loved Hogsmeade."

She grabbed a quill and quickly signed the slip.

She then looked at the list.

"Alright, tell your friends we'll be going to Diagon Alley in three days to buy your items."

Scott nodded and dashed upstairs, full of excitement.

I can't wait to go to Hogsmeade with Tom and Jimmy! Or maybe just with Jimmy!

Scott blushed and quickly wrote out letters before sending them off.

He watched as Ember flew off, his heart racing.

This year was going to be the best year of his life.

That's what he hoped at least.

And boy,

Did he get more than he expected.
