You're better than the best
I'm lucky just to linger in your light
Cooler then the flip side of my pillow, that's right
Completely unaware
Nothing can compare to where you send me,
Lets me know that it's OK, yeah it's OK
And the moments where my good times start to fade

You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed, sing like a bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Oh, you make me smile

Even when you're gone
Somehow you come along
Just like a flower poking through the sidewalk crack and just like that
You steal away the rain and just like that

You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed, sing like a bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Oh, you make me smile

Don't know how I lived without you
Cause every time that I get around ya
I see the best of me inside your eyes
You make me smile
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild

You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed, sing like a bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Oh, you make me smile
Oh, you make me smile
Oh, you make me smile

Smile - Uncle Cracker

And They Were Happy

Week three was coming to a close, and it'd been a great week for Carlie and Trenton. They had only seen each other twice at work, but they were planning on spending Saturday night together. Their nightly phone calls had transitioned from cracking jokes and chuckling to serious, deep conversations. They were seeing each others ideals and morals. And they were compatible. It astounded both of them how much they agreed on.

The things worth debating, they did, and the things not worth debating, they didn't. They kept it real and transparent, and at a moment they were sure there was nothing the other could say to push them closer, Trenton told Carlie about his dad; everything she asked, he answered. It was his trade off for her story about her husband. He figured that if she trusted him with part of her story, he could trust her with part of his.

"He... up until he left, he would hit me the hardest. I had lip, I was the only one helping my mom. She told us to be quiet when he was like that, but me... he hated me the most, and I couldn't let him talk to my mom like that. It took years of therapy for all of us, but we made it out. We're close, that's the only way we made it," Trenton said into the phone as Carlie sighed.

"I'm s—"

"Part of my story," he replied, clearing his throat.

"Do you ever think there's a purpose behind this? That there's something we're supposed to do after abuse? I mean, there has to be a reason why, some deity somewhere has to know," Carlie all but whispered.
