Dawn

Carlie snuggled into Trenton's neck, groaning as she heard him attempting to move. It was official. She was pregnant, two months along. They were married, and it was an incredible experience so far. Being married and pregnant changed Carlie for the better. During trial, she was calmer than normal. Trenton was every bit of sweet the night they were wedded, a night in which she vomited often, and after that, he put her on a strict diet. She didn't like it but the doctor did, and made her promise to keep eating that way until the baby arrived.

"Carlie, I want to go in today. I have a lot of paper work," Trenton chuckled lowly. She'd barely let him out of her sight now that she was pregnant unless she was working, which she was doing three times as much of. When he wasn't around, she had to distract herself from thinking of him.

"I know, but I want you here," Carlie replied as her eyes opened.

"There she is, the most beautiful girl in the world, my wife," he smiled as he kissed her lips gently.

"There's my husband. Baby, every day I say that, it makes me happy."

"Do you want to be happy at the office? Because that's where I'm going," Trenton smirked as Carlie whimpered.

"I love you. Stay here... Please?"

"Baby, no," he laughed again. "What would make you okay with me leaving? Name it, anything."

"You not leaving—"

"Except that," Trenton smiled.

"Fine. Then, promise me you'll be home in three hours, and when you come home, you'll take a nap with me. I'm getting ready to take Chrissy to the doctor anyway," she sighed as she sat up.

"I'll go to the doctor, then go to work, and I'll be home before five. Deal?"

"Five? Let's shoot for four," Carlie compromised.

"Four it is. Come on, let's shower," he said, kissing her forehead.

Trenton wasn't a fan of Christine's pediatrician. He noticed the last visit for Christine's shots that Dr. J didn't like him and he liked his wife a little too much. Trenton was irritated the moment they stepped off the elevator and noticed Dr. J waiting by reception. They slowly approached the desk, and when they stood in front of it, Dr. J jumped, gawking at Carlie. He greeted her with a kiss to her cheek, one which Trenton all but growled about. He wrapped his arm around Carlie as he held Christine.

"Hi, J!" replied Christine, sitting up to only fall back to Trenton's shoulder. She felt awful.

"Hi, bunny. Your mom says you don't feel good. What's wrong?" he cooed.

"Tummy," she groaned as Trenton frowned, kissing his daughter's head.

"Okay. Trent, they have to run some blood work on you, then you have to fill out some paperwork. After that, we'll get her in the back to see what's wrong. Just standard parent stuff since you've adopted her. Carlie, it's wonderful to see you again. Before you leave, make sure you pick up my card. We should catch up," he smiled charmingly as he left.

"What the hell is his problem?" Trenton groaned as they took a seat.

"He likes me, honey, but I'm married," she whispered, kissing his lips gently.
