Welcome back once again, Ana, angel!;)):)):*

I had another dream this time and I wasn’t sure if it wanted to show me something or if my mind was making a fool of me.

I was still too young to understand anything of what was happening. All I knew was that my mother was very upset about something. She sat on the couch, looking down at the floor and covering her ears with her palms while my dad was desperately shouting at her, asking her to stop something. I kept hearing things like: “She cannot be like you.” or “She can’t find out about any of you and I’ll make sure she won’t.” Between these lines, I kept hearing my name. Dad was pointing out the fact that I was also his daughter and that he is in charge of taking care of me. My mom said that I should grow up among people like her and learn how to control myself when the right time came. All I wanted was a normal family…a normal life.

I startled and I half-opened my eyes to realize that my sight was hazy. I startled one more time and this time I heard echoes again. I wasn’t hurt but I was cold. I was still in that purgatory between reality and dream and I couldn’t wake up by myself. I was pulling the dream closer, heart sore by everything that had to do with reality. Tiny scraps of the past events started to run through my memory. I thought about Adam and the way James made him feel like when he kissed me. Still, in the moment I woke up, James’ eyes welcomed me, which were now so calm and so mild as if they were throwing warmth and love at me. I couldn’t help feeling like I wanted to kiss him again, but all I wanted in that moment was Adam.

“Good morning, love.” James said laying me down on the bed before I tried getting up.

“How…Where’s Adam?”

I saw surprise but at the same time anger and envy on James’ face. For a guy that in the last few years got anything he wanted, was always on the first place with nobody able to deny him, my words cut through him like a blade.

“He can’t stay with us, remember?”

“He can’t stay with you. I want to make sure he’s not hurt. Please, James.”

“Immediately, darling.”

I wondered how he managed to say those words so quickly and at the same time not to hurt his pride. Anyhow, I was thankful. Right before he got up I squeezed his hand and he bended over to kiss my forehead.

“Adam, come upstairs! She’s woken up.”

And he jumped out the window.

I heard each of Adam’s steps on the stairs and they were really fast and impatient. Before entering my room, he knocked. I thought about the things that made me like him; those little and insignificant things like, knocking at the door, eating at a fast food and even joking. Who on earth would have time for these when everything else around them falls apart right in front of their eyes.

“Yeah.”

He really was impatient and a little bit shy. He did perfectly what he had to do: breaking into buildings, fighting strangers, hacking computers, but when it came to taking care of a girl he was completely lost.

“Hi.”

I stretched my arms to call for a hug, but as he was getting closer something incredibly odd happened.

“Wait. Stay back.”

I felt hell cold, my eyes and my head were itchy, my body strained and my mouth was completely dry.
