Aiden

I watch her plump ass swag down the hallway, boys stop and stare and girls either glare in envy or put their heads down. Obviously avoiding trouble. Clever. I narrow my eyes and slowly look her up and down, she is looking hot today, better than yesterday, she's wearing a flowy red short at the front long at the back skirty thing with a white top and red heels and of course all the matching attire.

Hmm thinking about it a bit too dressed up. I stride towards her, girls stop and stare but I'm used to it. The girl I banged yesterday looks to the floor and scurries out of the way. I smile to myself, I snuck out leaving a no strings attached note. I shake the thoughts out of my head when I arrive at my destination. Laylas locker. Time to focus on the real challenge. She will sleep with me, more than once. You can't play a player.

"Hey there gorgeous." She glances at me and then goes back to getting her books, "Well someone is PMSing" I say, "I know you want me sweet stop being ignorant and admit it." I whisper in her ear.

She leans close and I am momentarily disappointed thinking she has given up easily and was going to kiss me but she just whispers,

"I want you just as much as I want AIDS." Her breath brushes my cheek and smells like vanilla, Mmmm, this distracts me a bit. I mean who doesn't like vanilla?

She saunters off, heels clicking, leaving me there grinning. Hmhm sweet we will see about that.

I see Amelia, her friend, walking slowly talking to Jason. Laughing and smiling.

That's so cute, not. But it could be useful. I stroll across the hall, smiling warmly.

"Hey Jason. Oh hello, Amelia is it?" She smiles, green eyes lighting up and nods.

"So I was wondering if I could sit with you Jason at lunch, and you, of course, Amelia." I add, knowing that, either way, she will say yes and bring Layla.

""Oh, I don't think..." Jason cuts her off.

"Please it'll be fun. Please, be the best cousin. You know Jack has a massive crush on you." Oh wait they're related? Gross. She sighs heavily,

"I will try and convince Layla, she owes me anyways, see you later." Somehow I think Amelia is much nicer than Layla. I wonder why. Note the sarcasm peps.

When lunch finally rolls around I walk quickly to the canteen. I spot Jasona and a load of other jocks at a table... with a glowering Layla and a happy Amelia. I smile widely knowing my plan had worked perfectly.

Oh and guess what? There's only one seat left, next to Layla. My lucky day.

I slide into the chair, earning and look of total disbelief from Layla.

"You are fucking kidding me." I ignore her because Jason is introducing me to the 4 guys and 1 girl that I don't know. Jack, a broad black haired dude that can't stop looking at Amelia. Jace, a skinny but muscled blond that doesn't look up from his phone when saying hi. Adam a seriously hyper dude that can't keep still with brown hair hair and matching eyes. Tate a really gothic creepy guy who doesn't talk. Literally, he's mute and the girl, she's red-headed and obviously in a relationship with Jason, she doesn't stop glaring at Layla, I think her name is Megan. Just cheery. I nod and wave to each of them then look at Layla who is sat there staring off into space, in her own little world.

She really is hot, but underneath her showy clothes and makeup I think she would be cute. Suddenly her eyes snap to mine and slow smirk emerges on her face.

"Take a picture, it lasts longer." I'm not embarrassed by getting caught staring, instead when she looks away I get my phone out call her name and snap a pic before she can even protest.

She scowls and mutters 'paedophile' under her breath while kicking me in the shin, "Fuck you".

"Is that an offer?" I ask, she gives the 'I will kill you' glare and to be honest it scared me a little. Not. "I'll take that as a yes."

"Honey the only thing I am offering is for you to end up with no balls."

"Oooo touche.." That earned another kick, "Dammnnnn bitch quit it with the kicks." She flips me the finger, lady like.

Chuckling I ask, "So why the getup? You got a date?" She laughs, it's not a warm gentle sound but more like a cold rehearsed one. "No" was all I got, mm, a mystery. I am so wrapped up in what she could be hiding that even when a nice looking girl asks my name, I just look at her. Finally, I snap out of my reverie and tell her to go away. I am not in the mood, I just want to find out what Layla is hiding and why she is so closed up.

Layla

This is torture, the idiot, after annoying the hell out of me, just sits there. Not speaking or anything. And the worst of it? I nearly told him. I nearly fucking told him. Idiot. Its none of his business where I am going. Don't trust anyone was mums last words.

The bell for last class and I am the first to stand, I have seriously had enough of a glaring Megan. But instead of going to class I nod at Amelia and head to my car.I slide in, loving the feeling of the leather seats.

I drive smoothly towards my house and after a few minutes I notice a black BMW driving behind me. I shake off the feeling that he had found me. Don't be stupid, he isn't here. When I'm parked on my drive I am relieved to see the car parking in the drive way of the 'Just sold' house across the street. New guys.

The relief quickly evaporates when I see Aiden get out and stroll over to the door, he waves cheerily at me, "Hey neighbour!" He shouts. Kill. Me. Now. I groan and give him the finger. Strolling into my house, no trace of dad around. What a surprise. Not. I grab my ID and the cake I baked for Lilly and head back to my car.

I carefully put the cake on the passenger seat, watching out for my new neighbour, and drive off. I keep an eye out for any cars suspiciously following but I don't think Aiden thought I would be going back out.

As I smoothly drive into the high security 'house' after going through the usual routine of checking my ID that I have to go through every week, I see Lilly sat outside on the bench. Waiting, knowing I would never let her down. I park quickly and rush to get out, no matter what destruction her father had caused I could never blame her. So fragile and harmless. My baby cousin. My last hope in life.

Her long brown hair flies behind her as she rushes towards me, "Layla!" Her voice chimes. I embrace her tightly, ignoring the panic alarms it causes. She pulls away quickly knowing it upsets me. She's 8 but extremely grown up.

"Hey there princess," I say, she smiles widely, "No, you look like a princess today, very pretty."

"Thank you, Lilly. Come on let's go see Richard and Rose."

She babbles on about how her tutoring is going and how she knows how to cook cupcakes now.

"Oh that reminds me, I baked a cake for you I'll bring it in later OK?" She nods eagerly.

I spend the afternoon talking to Lillys' adopted parents, they had other orphans there but only Lilly is classed as a daughter, talking about everything and nothing until it strikes 6. Lilly pouts and shakes her head when I say I have to go. I rush to get her cake and give her a quick kiss on the cheek before sliding into my car. I wave and smile sadly because I am leaving her. Again.

I nod respectfully at the guards as they open the gates and them my heart literally stops.

Because parked right there outside was a black BMW with a frustrated Aiden sitting on the hood. CRAP.

I roll down the window and he sighs,

"Finally, took you long enough. Care to explain why you are at a high security care home?"
