Chapter 2 - 'Her puppet master'
The Queen's puppet. That has been my role for the past year. I'm not too excited to have the puppet name again, but what is a girl to do when she's all alone in the world? Being the most powerful witch in the world, I am also the most hated. No one want's to be controlled by someone just because their higher rank, unless they've done something to deserve it. I was just born into it, so It seems like I'm a brat that gets what I want when I want.
Now, ever since the Queen found me and my power's, she took me in, made me a noble, and a home, but in return I must be her puppet.
"Lady (y/n)? Your tea is ready."
"Oh, hello James!" I smile brightly
James, my butler, came in with a cart of sweets and tea. I had a problem with sweets and sweet tea. I was addicted.
"How are you, Miss?"
My servants knew better than to be scared of me. I was always kind to them, always happy, always looking at the bright side, and always smiling. I treated them as equals and told them to do the same. Despite my bad past, I always find myself smiling at nothing.
"I'm very good, James. What did you bring today?" I say excited.
"Ah, so you see the sweets?"
"How could I not? You know I love sugar!" I smile and laugh happily
He laughs a bit then says, "You have a letter from the Queen."
Groan. " We all know my logic skill isn't that great, yet she continues to send me on unsolved cases."
"Hey, you haven't failed yet. And it's not about how welll your logic skill is, it's about how hard you try."
"Thank you, James, but I've had enough lecures from my parents from when they were alive to last me a life time..." I grin as I said it lazily.
"Oh, and you should know that it isn't just you this time. The Lord Phantomhive will be joining you."
"Who?" I ask dumbstruck.
"I guess we'll find out. I'll send Maddy to help with your dress and hair, we'll have to leave imediatley.
I stand from my desk, unwillingly. It's going to be a long day...
