A couple of days passed and Johnny and I were in the music room. He was playing the guitar and I was watching him. Then suddenly he stopped and I looked at his lips. "Can I ask you something?" I nodded and he asked, "Is sign language hard?" I thought about the answer and I started signing to him. He watched my hands and when I stopped he looked at me. "What was that?" I giggled and I spoke with my mouth. "I just told you that sign language is only hard when you're first learning." His eyes widened almost as if I just yelled at him. "So you can talk?" I nodded. "Only when I absolutely need to." He nodded and sat down the guitar. "Can you teach me. I'd really love to learn." I smiled and I took him into my bedroom. I sat him down on the bed and I said, "Let's start with the alphabet." He nodded and I did the whole alphabet slow. Johnny watched me and then I let him do it. He was a fast learner for the alphabet. After he could do the whole alphabet twice we stopped for the day. Later I was sitting on the counter, while Johnny was cooking tacos. I asked him, "Why did you stare at me when I laughed?" He looked at me and shrugged. Then he suddenly reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. He put it to his ear and went into the living room while I took over dinner.

Johnny's P.O.V

"Hello?" I asked. "Hey Johnny. How's everything." I sat on the couch and realized that it was Lance. "Everything's going fine so far. I'm learning sign language." He laughed and said, "That's great! I need you to do a couple of things for me." "Ok." I replied. "Listen. One of Christina's friends is having a Gala this weekend. Her name is Courtney, and her parents own a film making company. Anyways, Christina's been begging me  to let her go and I've put it off for two years, and the only way she can go is if she has a date." My heart thudded in my chest. "Let me guess. You want me to be her date." It got quiet for a little bit until he said, "Yes. That's all she's asked me for for the last while. I already have your formal clothing in my closet so suit up for her, Johnny. Please make her happy." "Ok. But I don't dance." Lance laughed and said, "Just one dance won't kill you." I sighed and then he said, "Oh and the last thing. Tomorrow is the pre-operation for her ear surgery. I finally got the call and they want her in next Monday." I smiled a little. "So just take her to the hospital and they'll do everything." I nodded and told Lance that I had to go make dinner. We hung up and Christina was looking at me. I got up off the couch and she asked, "Was that daddy?" I nodded and said, "He's letting you go to the Gala, and tomorrow I have to take you for your pre-op." Her eyes got big and my heart started beating fast when she smiled. "Who's going to be my date?" I gave her a smile and she started smiling even bigger. "Yay! We'll have so much fun, Johnny." She went off into the kitchen. Maybe it wouldn't be that bad."
