A/N: Sorry for the long wait and the shortness of the chapter. It's more of a filler, but it is still shorter than I wanted it to be. At the same time, I wanted to get something up for you guys.

I love you all so much and I hope you like this chapter.

Also, I saw some comments that worried me, so I want to do a quick disclaimer that I never thought I would have to do.

Caroline and Dominic were not created to be perfect characters that quickly got over each of their issues in the first 5-10 chapters. That's not how it is in real life, so that isn't how I wanted to make it in my book. Dominic does/says/thinks some questionable things and I do that on purpose, but this is a work of fiction and in no way am I saying those things are right or do I think they are okay. I'm a sucker for character development so this book's main theme is going to surround Caroline's and Dominic's development into better, less crazy people. I apologize deeply for anyone who thinks I was glamorizing or tolerating stuff like emotional/psychological abuse, because that is the last thing I am doing.

I hope this will not be an issue any further because I love you guys and I don't want any of you to get the wrong idea about what my purpose is here. Also, I'm not attacking anyone who has made comments about the stuff above, because I understand that the topic is an important one and shouldn't be taken lightly. :)

Enough of the heavy, non-Sugar stuff. Enjoy!

Chapter Twenty Six

Dominic sat close to my side, holding my hand securely in my lap as he spoke with the organizers. They didn't include me much, which wasn't a big problem with me. The ceremony was beyond my expertise. I hadn't ever seen one before, not even in the old pack I lived in.

As a human, I wasn't ever invited, mostly because I wasn't friends with any of the people who were holding the fancy celebrations. I watched a couple from my bedroom window, but all I saw was the couple making a toast with one of the pack Elders by their side and a lot of good food being eaten.

Dominic's hand squeezed mine, catching my attention. My gaze moved from my cup of tea to his face, which was relaxed. "Cara, you were asked a question," he said evenly.

"Oh, I'm sorry," I replied a little too quickly. "What did you ask?"

There were three people sent to help us: two women and a man. All of them appeared to be over sixty, the man having completely white hair. One of the women, who had a beautiful dark skin tone, had two white streaks through her thick black hair, framing her heart-shaped face delicately. She looked ethereal, like she could be some type of Fae. Her name was Ida, but her last name was too difficult for me to even attempt pronouncing, and she was the most experienced of the three and so was leading the discussion.

The second woman was what some people would describe as average. She was of medium height, not too tall or too short, and had a round face with deep chocolate eyes. Her hair was a mousy brown and seemed to naturally fall straight. This was Laura, the second most experienced. She seemed very snooty though, and hadn't bothered to look at me since I first shook her hand.

Ida gave me a gentle, warm smile. "It's alright. This is a lot to take in, I'm sure. I asked you what type of gown you'd prefer to wear. It will be made using the royal colors in silky fabrics, but the style is up to you," she explained.

"Um... I'm not sure. Do you mind if I draw it? It might be better drawn than explained," I told her. I didn't know any terminology for dresses or fashion at all for that matter, so our best bet would be my doodles.
