Well well, here we meet again... To give you the results of the third contest!

Can I just say I was shocked by how many people entered into this contest. The quality and the competition keeps on getting better and better.

On a negative note, I did have the most issue on rules. Such as the limit of words. But most importantly wether you were staying on topic or not and wether it was enough.

I'm not saying that every line of your poem has to be about the theme but at least half of your poem has to. But you still entered some amazing poems that made it so hard to decide!!! I will be posting a chapter dedicating to what I'm looking for in any poem. So yeah basically tips.

Let's get to the results, shall we?

In third place we have...

Title: Venus

I can see the constellation in your eyes, but I can't connect the dots.
I guess I just don't understand .

You live in Mars now, your hands covered in the soft red dirt. Smiling amongst martians.

When you didn't call, I figured you didn't want me. So I sat, freezing and alone on Venus.

And when you threw shooting stars my way, I covered my eyes with frost bitten hands
And felt my frozen tears drop into the abyss.

I dreamt of falling with them, of being swallowed by nothingness.

But for now,
My loneliness will keep me company.
And I will watch you're unearthly perfection
From an unfamiliar home.

Comment: I liked how it was detailed. I do have to say it was a rough start but with the details it redeemed itself. Which is a hint to future contestants that I love details, a key to placing. But yes the details and it tying to the theme of was a recipe for victory. Well done.

Title: Astronomy Boy

He floats around the sun
His heart filled with joy
He dances around the stars
He's my astronomy boy

I see him in the sky at night
His eyes are always sparkling
He twirls around and dances
His killer smile is something

He's always reading comics
While he sits on the moon,
While he read about superheroes
He hummed a lovely tune

He looked like a god
Only a lot more fun
He always talked to me
When he danced around the sun

And when he had to go
I wasn't okay
Because when he left
My whole universe turned grey.

Comment: What to say. In the beginning it was so cute and fun hearing about the astronomy boy. It has a somewhat happy tone. Then the astronomy boy leaves and it turns sad, like in an instant and I liked that. I think the effect was really good. Details, check. Relating to the theme, check. And leaving me with a reaction, double check. A very solid and pleasurable piece to read.

Title: A traveling Beauty

Within this Observatory, I have waited for eons
An infinite nebula with wandering satellites beyond
Across the pitch black abyss,
Blazing glitters disperse
Neighboring planets of rocky terrains seem to converse

This stellar scenery
Beckons a naked eye
To gaze through your telescope your luminous trail soon fades
An ever glowing mystery traveling the night sky
Bounded by a billion light- years are you and I

Penetrate the ozone layer with solar speed
Your warmth in a cold atmosphere,
Towards this earthly spec,
you aim to plummet

Please guide me to slumber my twinkling comet

Comment: I really really really liked it. It was just amazing. All the astronomical words and the feeling it had, the tone of the poem, was all amazing. Very well done.
