Chapter 3

"I hope I get bought soon!" I glanced over at Kat and the others.

Young and pretty girls, older than me, but I'm young too.

This is hopeless. I've been here for three years, no one's bought me yet.

I'll end up just like all the other humans who doesn't get bought.

I'll end up like a vampire's pincushion!

"It's unbelievable that you haven't been bought yet, you're beautiful," one of the twenty two year olds said.

"Looks have nothing to say if you don't have the right blood type as well," I pointed out while walking over to them.

"I hope I get one of those good masters, where you get treated like one of his loved ones." Kat fantasized and dragged the others along with her.

"Only a few of those exist," I also pointed out.

"You're such a pessimist! Be more optimistic," also twenty two said.

"Why would I be optimistic? We're getting sold daily to vampires who'll eventually kill us, only to drain us from blood afterwards. We're not gonna get educated or married. We'll all end up like the vampires' pincushion. Have you ever heard a conversation between the shop owners like 'one of my humans got a good home' or 'I sold mine a week ago and now she's married'?"

They all gave each other dead looks and went back to holding hands.

"No? I didn't think so." I rose and turned to walk to my room.

"The little feisty one's on her feet."

"I'll get her."

I ignored them and left the living room. Or whatever they called it.
