hey, here is a little tutorial on how I outline the model;
this is an example of the outline i am going to do today. [tho these types of outlines are used in teen fiction and light covers i am just using this cover to show you/don't try it in dark covers because it doesn't really looks nice but your wish.]
step 1: first you want to duplicate the model by right click> duplicate
step 2: you should have two layers of the model now, the upper layer will be used for the outline while the other one shouldn't be touched. Next step is go to blending options: right click> blending options> color overlay and black. your model should look something like this:
step 3: the next step is to select stroke, having any color you want, i usually choose white. the size can be changed depending on what you want again, if you want a thicker outline go increase the size and if you want a thin outline decrease the size.
step 4: right click and select rasterize layer style.
step 5: change the mode to screen
step 6: press CTRL T or select it/using the arrows enlarge the stroke so it looks like an outline
and thats a wrap, you are done. you have an model outline feel free to soften it using Gaussian Blue or topaz.
