A year can make a huge difference. Life hit me right in the face after I had Amina. Me and Dave finally decided to get married, we are not officially married. We never had a wedding or anything but it didn't matter to me as long as I was with the man of my dreams forever.

Dave was so faithful and loyal towards me through our ups and down. During my pregnancy, he was always there for me and never left my side. I put all my trust in him to be there for me during my pregnancy and he did just that. Amina is my sunshine. I love that little girl so much, words can even explain.

She opened my eyes up to a whole new world that I didn't even know existed and I want to protect her at all cost. I love my family. She's my first born and my only for now but I love her so much. She took most of Dave's genes with his side of the family being Puerto Rican, black and white. She's a whole mix of things while I'm just black and Dominican. She's perfect and gorgeous and I love my babygirl:

Amina just turned 1 two weeks ago. We had a big birthday bash. It was "My Little Pony" themed and she loved every second of it. There was a mass shooting right down the block from our street at the football stadium at a varsity game. We heard all the shots and the screams, we were woken it up to them. We knew we needed to move as soon as possible or it could be us next. Dave collected all the money we could and even did some hustling to move up out of Bronx but now in Manhattan. We moved to a beautiful home and I love it so much more than a crowded Bronx apartment:
