Tony groaned in frustration, he had hardly left his lab in the two weeks since he found out you were still alive

And yet he still had sent found your whereabouts, every lead turning into a dead end - it was infuriating

Sure, over these last fourteen days SHIELD had managed to take out more HYDRA bases than ever before because of Tony's work but for him, it wasn't good enough. He would not rest until he found y/n.

The team had been helping the best they could but they really couldn't do a lot, and Bruce had hardly managed to look at him - every time he did he almost hulk'd out, he was so angry at HYDRA for doing this to Tony he couldn't bring himself to be reminded by looking at the bags under Tony's sad eyes

The team (apart from Bruce) had congregated in tony lab, much to his annoyance

But if they weren't there he could drink himself to death every time something went wrong - which he had almost done on the second day

Clint, Steve and Natasha were playing cards in the corner, Bucky who had been the most useful out of all of them because he knew more about HYDRA and their prowess from things like this sat near tony, watching him work. And Wanda was reading off to the side

"That could be something" tony muttered to himself

"What?" Bucky asked, standing up and walking over to him

"It's probably nothing, a small file that shows some kind of base, it's really really small so I thought it was just shipment stocks or something like the last one, but I checked to security and I have never seen HYDRA use measure to protect a base like this , let alone one so small"

"Can you hack it or something?" Bucky asked, not really knowing about technology

"I'm getting Jarvis to run it through all of my codes but it's strong - might take a while" tony replied

"Ok, well while you're waiting you should take a nap, you could use some sleep" Bucky suggested

"No!" Tony yelled a lot more fiercely than he intended to "I mean- no, I'm fine" he corrected

"Stark you are not fine, just a few hours will do you good - we'll hold up the fort here, you need your strength to go and free y/n"

Tony sighed "I guess" he replied and he stood up from his stool "wake me the second Jarvis had cracked it

"Yes sir" Bucky said and he saluted, Tony rolled his eyes and trudged out of the room, his eyelids already beginning to droop

Bucky sat down on the stool Tony had just stood up from, and took a deep breath

His mind began to wonder, he though of Tony's reaction when he found out your powers

"No" he had breathed

"No! I- how?- how could they!?! The sick bastards!" He yelled and he sunk to his knees fighting back tears

"I'm sorry Tony" Bucky had tried to sympathise but Tony pushed him away

"I'm so sorry y/n" he whispered, "I'm so so sorry"

Bucky snapped out of his thoughts as tears of sympathy began to well in his eyes,

He himself needed a few hours of shut-eye, but Tony needed it far more than he, so he stayed and ran off coffee so that he could be there for the man who had once hated him

A few hours had passed, Steve and Clint were playing darts (Clint won every time)

Wanda and Natasha were talking as Natasha brushed Wanda's hair and Bucky had his head rested on the desk, slipping in and out of unconsciousness when suddenly he jerked awake but Jarvis' voice

"Sir I have receipted the security on the base"

"And?"
