Amidst the tears, I bid you my adieu,
As life demands that we must part our ways,
A heart-wrenching goodbye, though overdue,
For time and fate brought on these parting days.

A love that bloomed, now wilts and fades away,
A flame that once burned bright, now fades to ash,
Yet memories of us, forever stay,
Etched deep within my heart, an everlasting cache.

Oh how I wish that I could make you stay,
That time could turn back, and we'd never part,
But life is fleeting, as time slips away,
And now we face this sorrowful depart.

Yet even in goodbye, our love remains,
As memories and feelings forever sustain

GENRE: SONNET, POETRY

This poem was inspired by the difficult experience of saying goodbye to a loved one. As an author it is my job to capture every single moment of our lives so for today's poem I chose goodbye. Whether it's due to distance, a breakup, or the passing of someone dear, goodbyes can be one of the hardest things we have to face in life.

Through this sonnet, I tried to capture the bittersweet emotions that come with saying goodbye. It's a moment of both heartbreak and acceptance, of holding onto memories while letting go of the present.

I hope this poem can bring some comfort to those who have gone through a similar experience and remind them that they are not alone. Thank you for taking the time to read my work.
