She stands by the window each night,
Gazing across the street's faint light,
Watching the boy who lives across,
Hoping one day he'd be her loss.

She watches him from afar,
Admiring him like a shining star,
Yet he doesn't even know she exists,
Her love for him, she carefully keeps.

Her heart aches with unspoken love,
A love that's hidden, not spoken of,
She dreams of a day when he'd see,
The love that's burning within she.

But as the days go by, she knows,
That he may never feel the same throes,
Her love remains a secret kept,
As she watches and silently wept.

So she continues to watch and wait,
Hoping that one day, it's not too late,
For him to notice the girl next door,
And love her just as much and more.
