45| Mistakes

As soon as our little time off started it had ended and here we were here in Hungary for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The flight here was long and boring with nothing to really do.Both me and Aria had slept most of the flight due to the late nights we faced over our short holiday. 

I had to admit going to that wedding with Aria was quite an amazing experience. I learned a lot about my girlfriends family and culture not to mention how incredible she look everywhere. It was also nice to go some place where I wasn't constantly being recognized.  

Nevertheless it was time to get back to the track. Today was quali day and after having a good fp3 session I was feeling optimistic about quali. I had made sure to tell the team just the right things that needed to be adjusted for this track so we can get the best out of the car. 

When I got to the hospitality I went to go find Aria. I went to check her office but didn't find her in there which was strange. I went to check the computer room and found her in there with her head phones on staring at the screen in front of her with her notebook open in front. She didn't seem to notice when I walked in. I walked around and tapped her on her shoulder which startled her a bit. 

"Hi love" I say to her sitting down next to her. Nobody was really in the computer room because they were all going to wait till after quali to do their analysis.

"Hi" She says smiling at me. "What are you doing?" I asked her while looking down on her scribbled notes."Running a few simulation with different settings so we can so good in quali" She says to me. "And have you found any that might work" I ask another question. 

"Yeah take a look" She says sliding her notebook over to me. I read the setting and the results that were written next to them along with the observations. Some seemed better than the current settings while other would be better for other tracks. 

"Also played around with a few lines if thats of any interest to you" She said playing with the pen cap between her lips. 

I nodded for her to show me and she scooted over so we could both see the screen better. She played a few simulations for me and we discussed what we needed to do. 

After a bit more of playing around with the simulations it was time to go get ready for quali. I headed down to the garage with Aria where we spilt to go to our respective areas. Aria sets up her computer and comes over to my drivers room in the back after I finished getting changed. 

She slipped in while I was in the middle of my warm ups. I put down the bands and turned to face her. "Just wanted to come and wish you good luck" She said wrapping her arms around my neck. 

I smirk when her eyes went down to my lips. She leaned up and attached our lips. My arms automatically wrapping themselves around her waist. She pulls back after a bit and connects our foreheads. "I love you always" She says to me. "I love you my soleil" I say back to her. Again we share a quick kiss before someone knock on the door saying I have two minutes to get out. We separate and Aria sneaks her way back out and a few minutes later I join her in the main garage. 

I put my helmet on and climb into the car. I watch for the sign that I can go out and when it comes I'm quick to pull out. I see Aria on the pit wall wave to me. I pull my hand up in acknowledgment and wait for the cars in front of me to go out. 

After a bit of traffic and a slow start I'm finally given the all clear to start my lap. I was able to put in an ok lap time that brought me up to 5th. After I finished that lap out went ahead and just got out of the way of the other drivers because I noticed that there were a lot of cars out on the track. After putting in another lap that secured my position into Q2 the team told me to go ahead and pit so there would be less cars and we could preserve the tires.
