40. River of Dreams

"Are you going to kill me?" I gulped hard. It is obvious he will soon kill me but I believe Scion will never allow that.

"Oh, no, no, I won't do that. You are free to walk out." He stood up and pointed at the door. I shook my head and look away.

"Then tell me who Scion really is. Who were his real parents and who killed him?"

"Who killed who?" The open door revealed Victoria who just came in with three men at his back. "Ehem." She gracefully wiped the edge of her mouth with a handkerchief and clears her throat. "Stay here." She ordered the men and she stepped closer to us.

"She knew it." Draco sits down on the chair again." Victoria's eyes widened and her jaw dropped.

"How?" She asked while pouring alcohol on her hands before rubbing.

"It was a slip of the tongue, Victoria. Your husband confessed to me." I proudly answered and she covered her mouth with disappointment. "It was your fault! It was you!" She suddenly raised her voice and pointed at me. I shook my head in annoyance.

"Don't blame me. Your child is not a baby anymore. He can do whatever he wants and besides that, he is not your blood and body." I calmly explained.

*slap*

"Argh." My teeth churned as the pain start to grew on my cheek. Draco immediately pulled Victoria away.

"Get out for a while." She pushed Draco away towards the door. "I'll soon follow upstairs. She just needs to be lectured." Draco nods and went to exit. "You knew nothing! Nothing!" She angrily waves her arm with her index finger and her eyes were fiery. "Louis and I were lovers, I was the first one, who met him then, later on, my friend, a heartbreaker, and seducer named Samantha visited me, knowing that Louis is a rich and handsome guy. That witch stole what was mine. After they got married, they asked for me to be their lawyer who gave me a long time of suffering and heartbreak. Later on, I met Draco, the stepbrother of Louis who helped me out of my misery."

Victoria took a chair to sit on and brought out her electronic cigarette to smoke.

"No matter how much we tried to love each other, we couldn't teach our hearts. We just admitted and accepted each other as accomplice and partners in these nightmares. When the couple had a child, I knew what to do, to avenge myself in a hard way. Louis has far greater accomplishments than Draco so he was after the money which I immediately helped. When everything was over, I finally had revenge by putting it all on their child. He grew up without our love, we took all of his inheritance and we were using him to make more money but because of you, everything was ruined." She smiled bitterly and sips on a glass of wine that her men brought. "Yes, the businesses have sunk so we sold them until there's only twenty percent left. We tried to negotiate with an airline company but that good for nothing son suddenly disappeared and the company backed out. One day after four long years, he found out our secrets. To get rid of him, I borrowed a low profile killer."

My eyes widened and my fists tightened in anger. This is making me feel angry, pissed and disgusted!

'Relax, he's alive, right?'

Yeah, he was.

"Go on." I pointed at her with my chin.

"I knew you didn't sneak in the library for no reason. Miss Brazen, we are not the enemy here, it was them and you. Venice? She's Draco's filthy lover. She asked for this and that or anything to satisfy her every whim. Draco received blackmails from her that she will reveal what the banks were doing with the people's money."

"She didn't deserve to die. The people needed the money that they earned!" My face wrinkled in anger that I shouted at her. "So it was true? Were you charging your clients with unreasonable taxes and others? That isn't right!"
