Episode 21

Abbas nodded to one of his men to check the door. They took cover behind the walls. The man slowly opened the door. It relieved him on seeing the person on the other side of the door. It was Joseph.

Suraj ran towards him and hugged. He moved back with the force with which he hugged him. Joseph was smiling.

'Hey, champ. What happened?' inquired Joseph.

'I was worried about you. What happened with the police?' asked Suraj.

'Forget the police. Do you know who was present at that time when the police arrived?' said Joseph with a smile.

'Who?' asked Swayam.

He pointed outside towards their vehicle. An old man whose mouth was muffled with a piece of cloth and his eyes were blindfolded. The old man was Pyare Mohan, who could not stay indoors and had to step out.

'How did you defeat the police and catch him?' asked Suraj.

'We would have never done it if at the right time Shankar anna would not have informed Shyam about the police vehicles and Pyare Mohan stepping out of his house. When Shyam informed me, I had asked some of my men to hide and wait for my instructions.' said, Joseph.

He continues, 'When the police arrived, at the same moment Pyare Mohan Ji also arrived. He was not aware that we had already set the trap. We would not have fired, but the police were under the control of Pyare Mohan and at his orders started firing. At that moment, I asked my men to attack. I hid them in the trees and attacked the police from behind. We could injure and capture them. We know the inspector was corrupt but not the entire police department. We made them surrender and put them inside the cottage, caught Pyare Ji and brought him here. I think everyone is here. We should hand them over to the police. I know someone who can help us.'

'What about Shyam? They are not here yet.' said Rohan.

The entire road was empty except for Shyam and Joseph's men. The cries inside grew louder. The husband was getting worried.

'Don't worry Budh Ram. Everything will be all right.' said Shyam.

There was a loud cry from inside. It was a child's cry. A smile spread across the face of everyone. Budh Ram was crying in happiness. They waited outside for some time, but no one came outside. The cries were also getting faint. Shyam suggested some foul play. He asked Joseph's men to break through the door. They broke the door and when they reached inside; they were shocked at what they saw.

The middle women were trying to kill the child. The men jumped upon them to snatch the baby from them. The women tried to hide the baby. The woman on the bed was crying and trying to stop them. But the men overpowered the middle women, pointed guns at them and took the baby from them and gave it to the mother.

'Stand up and come outside. You are lucky that we haven't shot you till now.' shouted Shyam.

'You can't do that.' said the elder of the group and spit on the floor. They were tied and put in the vehicle and taken back to the cottage. They congratulated Budh Ram for being the father to a beautiful girl. It was a time for celebration, but they had some important thing to complete. Shyam asked two of Joseph's men to keep guard over Budh Ram's house till morning.

The vehicle sped across the narrow lanes and reached the cottage. The pale light of the dawn was coming out. The night was over. Dawn was fast approaching. Shyam got down from the vehicle and rushed towards the cottage.

When the door was opened, he shouted, 'I think there has been some mistake. The middle women tried to kill the child.'
