Chapter 11

"So, you think that person was the one who's been stealing from your store?" Mista asked the old man who pointed at the person who's been standing across the store ever since the both of you arrived.

When both of you arrived at the old man's store the person was already there. The person was wearing a beanie and shades that cover their hair and eyes, and they also wear a baggy outfit. Definitely suspicious...

"My things and some of my money have been missing ever since that person shows up last week." The old man sneered at the person across the store.

"Have you tried telling them off?" you asked. The old man gazed at you and sighed in defeat. "I did, but they come back afterwards."

You were about to go towards the person but was stopped when mista suddenly spoke. "(Y/N), I'll go and you stay here with the old man."

Before you were about to say that you'll do it instead, he already left and walked towards the suspicious individual. Since you were told to stay, you've decided to watch them along with the old man.

As Mista started to near them, the person started to retreat and run away from him. You raised your brows thinking why would they suddenly run away, wouldn't that made them much more suspicious? Mista followed after the culprit leaving you with the old man.

You and the old man blankly watch at both of them disappeared from the sight.
"Are you not going to follow him?"

"Nope, there might be some of their accomplice lingering around here." you said as you observed the surrounding watching out for any suspicious individual.

'System, do you see anyone suspicious?'

'There's someone approaching from the right side.'

You quickly looked at the right side and spotted a kid running towards you but they suddenly stopped their tracks when your gazed fell on them. You glanced around and saw that no one is approaching except for the kid.

Crossing your arms, you thought that maybe the kid was going to buy something from the store but gotten intimidated by you when you suddenly glanced at them. You don't remember looking intimidating though.

You watch the kid continue walking towards you after a few minutes of stopping their tracks. The kid stopped in front of you and raised their head looking right at you. "Miss... Can you please come with me?" the kid asked clasping his hands together and gave you a worried gaze. You were momentarily confused and asked why would he suddenly asked you to come with him.

As he heard you asking why, the little boy pursed his lips looking down for a second before raising his head and gazing back at you again. "I saw your friend following my mom..." his voice trailed worriedly and continued "We'll return what we stole... so please don't let your friend hurt my mom."

So, the suspicious individual was a lady, and the little boy here was her son. You gave the boy a reassuring smile. "You don't have to worry, he won't hurt your mom."

The little boy told you to still follow him just to make sure that Mista won't really hurt his mom. Thinking that they have the stolen things from the old man, you decided to comply.

You walk back inside the store told the old man that you'll leave for a bit and will get back with his things. You went back outside with the kid pulling you and leading you to his home.

Afterwards, both you and the kid arrived at his home. The kid gently opened the front door when suddenly a loud gunshot rang inside his house and a loud shrilling scream followed after. The kid quickly run inside with you following him from behind. Your thoughts was filled with questions on what the heck just happened.

"Why did you kill him!?" a woman voice cried out loud. You run in haste towards the voice making past the kid.

When you arrived at the scene. You saw that Mista was pointing his gun at someone then lowered his gun.

You tried to understand the situation. Who did Mista just shot? You walk towards him making your presence known.

Noticing your presence, he gave you a surprised look. "(Y/N), why are you here?"

Before you were about to response the  woman who looks beaten up was about to stab Mista who's attention was at you.

You quickly run towards the woman kicking her hand disarming the knife from her, and quickly grab her arm pulling her hard making her stagger and quickly push her down, restraining her to move. Your gaze move towards the Mista."The kid told me to come here."

Mista glanced at you then at the kid who ws shedding tears trying not to make a sound.

"Who did you shot anyways?" you curiously asked and glanced at the person with blood leaking out on the floor on the other side. The woman beneath you started to struggle wanting to get out from your grasp and kept on shouting to let her go.

The kid silently made his way besides you and sadly glanced at his mother "Mom, please stop already." 

The woman beneath you stops struggling, her eyes head towards her son, and tears fell from her eyes. You removed your hands letting her free. She quickly hugged her crying son. "Mom, let's return what we stole." The woman hesitantly glanced at her son but seeing the current situation she decided to agree with him.

The woman gave us the things they stole, and told us that she won't steal again. Both you and Mista departed from them and headed back to the old man's store.

"I shot her lover." Mista started out of nowhere, and glanced at you. "He was hurting her and it seems that he's been doing it for a long time! So, why did that woman still care of the man who's abusing her?" 

You gave a thought about it and remembered seeing something similar at social media before. "The lady must be blindly in love with her lover, and thought that maybe someday her lover might change."

Mista nodded at your answer and glanced up the sky. "But what if the lover never changes? Wouldn't she be waiting for nothing?" 

"Well, that's up to her." you answered, not really knowing what to answer since you never really had a romantic relationship before.

Afterwards, you and Mista arrived at the old man's store and handed back his stolen things except for the money since they already spent it. He quickly took it from Mista and thanked the both of you for bringing back his things.

[Mission Completed]

You Successfully returned the stolen goods.

Mista +10, wis +3

You stared at the message from completing the mission, and glanced above Mista's head and saw the 20% became 30%. You found out that doing a mission with them can increase their affection point.

Mista noticed you staring at him and went besides you putting his hands on your shoulder. "Let's go back home."
