RILEY GILMORE GLARED AT her fraternal twin sister Rory who was humming happily to herself. Only Rory Gilmore could be the most happiest person in the whole world on the first day back at school. Riley was positive that Rory was an alien but she still did love her sister.

"How are the eggs?" Rory chirps at their mother as Riley sighs putting in her headphones to listen to her music to drone everything around her. She was not a morning person, no matter how much coffee she drank. She will never understand how some people could be so happy and positive in the mornings. Riley despises morning people.

All of a sudden her mum yanks out her headphones

"hey what was that for? never touch a woman's headphone!" Riley points at her mum grumpily whilst cradling her headphones

"woman? please Riles you may be mature for your age but you're not a woman, especially not under my watch" Her mum says to her and now it was Riley's turn to glare at her mother

"but why?" Riley whines

"why aren't you a woman? well sweetie, i'm sure we've had this discussion before but it's all about your hormones-" Her mum starts

"what mum no, i meant why did you have to do that" Riley complains

"oh well you know how Luke gets with noise" Her mum says and Riley raises her eyebrows at this

"what has this got to do with Luke and noise-" Riley starts but gets cut off by Lane who joins them at Luke's diner and takes a seat at their table

"Oh, thank god, you guys haven't left yet"

"Nope, what's up?" Rory asks her best friend Lane, Riley also happened to be close with Lane but not as close as Rory was with her

"Well, I found the greatest record store in the world. It's ten minutes from your school and I'm wondering how much you love me" Lane says to Rory

"Well if its for music of course" Riley pipes in

"You don't go to Chilton" Rory laughs at Riley and then asks Lane "Address?"

It was true, Riley didn't attend Chilton like her sister. It wasn't that Riley wasn't smart enough or didn't get good grades, because she did, she just never dreamt of going to a competitive posh private school surrounded by fake manipulative people. It wasn't much different from a public school, well only the fake manipulative part was the same.
