y/n's pov.

a few days passed by ever since the forger family moved in and i've been familiarized with them, finally knowing that the gorgeous lady i saw the first time was anya's mother and loid's wife.

now as i casually strolled back home after a late night walk, i couldn't help but to look over at the forger's household. muffled thuds kept resonating and i can see 3 silhouettes in the house. ignoring it, i finally entered the building to my house. i could still hear the thuds but this time louder. i continued walking, not minding any of it till i froze, startled.

my eyes were wide open as i stared down at the unconscious body laying on the floor. his whole body was badly injured, leaking blood. he also reeked of alcohol which made my stomach turn in disgust.

wow, so an injured drunkard laying here? and the fact it is a young and handsome man. how shameful, i thought, shuddering. i continued looking down at him, unsure of what to do. the man did seem quite proper despite the fact he was bleeding and reeked of alcohol. i surely do not want to leave him laying there injured but i also don't wish to take in a drunkard into my home.

after a few minutes of contemplating, i finally gave in. i slowly picked his body up, staggering as his whole weight fell on me. y/n, what the fuck are you even thinking of bringing a unconscious, drunk, fine man into your home? i cursed mentally and walked up, dragging his body.

laying his body down in the guest room, i hurried to aid his wounds. they all were fresh and his blood dripped continuedly, staining my bed sheets. i eyed him, now taking in his attractive features. he had short straight hair with uneven bangs. his skin also was delicate upon my touch. i was dazed. my fingertips brushed against his cheeks as i put ointments, plasters and bandages on every wound. wow.

i took a breath in before stepping back. he looks like a god-like statue, so unreal, i thought as i went out of the room. i locked the door and made sure when he woke up, he won't be able to unlock the door, afraid that he might do anything dangerous when i'm asleep. i also kept long-like objects near me for self-defense.

even if he was handsome, i had to be wary because he's still a stranger to me.

morning reached and the fresh smell of the soup i cooked lingered in the air. pain relievers rested on the table to help the still unconscious man's hangover he might experience when he wakes up. arranging the table, i prepared everything necessary to help the young man. right as i poured a cup of warm water, i heard faint grunts and thuds in the room where he resided. i quickly walked over, unlocking the door to face the man. he groaned and held his head, cursing under his breath.

his eyes then fell on me, those half awake eyes switching to something so piercing that made shivers run down my spine.

"who are you and why am i here?" he questioned. his tone was strict and stern although his voice was hushed. i quickly put on a small smile, "good morning sir, you are here because i found you unconscious down the stairs yesterday night. i apologize if you didn't wish to be taken in by a stranger but i didn't have the heart to leave you alone." i stated and added on, "please help yourself with the soup i made and pain relievers i bought so your hangover won't get any worse."

the guy continued to hold his head, sighing as he forced himself to stand. "is that so? i'm sorry for the inconvenience i caused. i'm not good in holding my liquor and drank past my limit." he explained and followed me out. i simply nodded and gestured him to eat up the soup and pain reliever. for the whole time, we never exchanged any other words and sat in silence although he did give me some glances throughout, confusing me.

now as i waited for the male to get ready to leave, i realized that my bus will be coming soon in an hour. it took a few minutes for him to finally dress up and follow me out. i locked the door and we both walked out quietly that is till we reached the pavement outside.

the man faced me, gratefulness overpouring as he sent me a tight smile. a cool, windy breeze blew and his hair fluttered along. pretty, i gaped. his red eyes twinkled as he stared back at mine. i cleared my throat, "it's a pleasure to meet you but i have to go." i smiled, "please take care of yourself and don't faint around being drunk." i chuckled as i bowed. time was ticking and i realized the bus i have to take will arrive soon. "see you again," i said aloud before turning.

"w-wait..!" he stammered, taking a step forward and pulling my hand. my lips parted as i glanced at him, surprised by his actions. "what's your name?" he whispered. "y/n l/n." i quickly uttered. "y/n..?" his eyes fell as he repeated softly before looking back at me. "i'm yuri briar.. does that ring anything?"

i pondered. yuri briar? i don't remember hearing this name. i shook my head as i pulled my hand away. for a second, his face darkened in disappointment but he quickly changed it with a nervous chuckle, "is that so? i thought i knew you. my bad."

"it's okay. unfortunately, i really need to go so i'll see you around yuri-san!" i excused myself before walking off towards the bus stop as fast as i can. yuri stood dumbfounded as i walked away. i could hear him inaudibly mutter my name under his breath and sigh.
