As the Crow Falls: Nothing to report. Complete offline, posting weekly.

City of Coral: SURPRISE! Kels is no longer a trilogy. In an unexpected twist that I'd like to give its own chapter of this book, Song of the Deep is now marked complete, and Book III of my now-Kels-Quartet (four-book series) is up and posting weekly. How long will it be? Let's be honest, I have no idea. We're into the second half of the series now, and I'm confident now that there are only two books left. This could be a long one, though. I can't wait.

Red Rover: Complete offline and posting weekly, this book is now past the halfway mark! It's growing fast, so anyone reading it now will have plenty of company 💖

Can You Cook a Dragon (Flash Fiction Collection): I've just accepted that I'm not going to touch this again until I'm out of my current apartment and have more spoons to spare for writing. With that said, it's far from abandoned. I will be coming back... after all, where else would I dump all the smol ideas and book extras that clutter my head and demand to be written?

Rocks Can Dance: I've kinda-sorta set myself goal to have this one done by the end of 2022, but if I'm being honest with myself, that's unlikely to happen

Rocks Can Dance: I've kinda-sorta set myself goal to have this one done by the end of 2022, but if I'm being honest with myself, that's unlikely to happen. My follow-up goal, then, is to add at least 50k to it, which will take me more than halfway to the end from where I am now. Yes, this book is chonky. Oops.

Super Secret Mystery Project™ That Will Remain A Mystery Until Launch: On pause to make space for building up my buffer on City of Coral and working towards the finish line on Rocks Can Dance.

The Wall of Imanti: I have another kinda-sorta pact with myself about this one. Rocks Can Dance currently occupies a spot in my WIP repertoire dedicated to a longer standalone that requires a lot of up-front planning work. Rather than fill that spot again once RCD finishes, I'm going to take a bit of a break and work on my Kels series, this series, and any sprintable standalones that come my way. It's hard sometimes to make space for WIPs that are a LONG way out from posting anywhere, but I like this one a lot, so I want to make sure it doesn't get neglected.

Water Will Rise: City of Coral is, shockingly, completely planned. Which means this entry hasn't changed: What is now book four of my Kels trilogy is slowly coming together in my planning documents, a process made easier now that I'm spreading Everything That Still Needs To Happen into two books, not one, haha.

Okay, October was bad

Okay, October was bad. After getting It's Cold Upstairs out of my system by Oct. 2, I wrote absolutely nothing for the rest of the month, and was very glad to have a buffer. NaNo's kicked my butt back into gear again, but I'm behind on my yearly goal again and will probably spend my catch-up words on City of Coral because it's the book that's talking to me right now.

On the upside, spooky season was a ton of fun. My main writing community ran festivities all month, I've got a new completed Horror novella on my hands, and Red Rover got front-page Featured for most of the month! It's my first time on the Wattpad homepage in my five years on Wattpad, with the 23rd book I've ever written. This month also gifted me with two more Wattys Shortlistings: one for I See Fire again, and one for Listen to the Water. The latter has been particularly significant for me, as I've always had an unshakable feeling that my pantsed works aren't as good as my planned ones, and LttW is pantsed. Turns out my perception is skewed.

I'm also really looking forward to NaNo. I'm off to a good start, and shooting for 50k without additional goals. If I write more than 50k, great! But I'm not trying to.

Best of luck to any other NaNo-writers! Let's do this  🦾

Got to hold these little noodles this week. Stare that back one in the eyes without smiling. I dare you.
