How long will it hurt?
It feels like you have shot a bullet through my heart
Why did you desert?
After knowing you were the one keeping me from falling apartNow there is no one to hug me tight
To rub my back, whispering 'It will be alright'
Teaching me to live, every single night
Daily, filling my heart with delightNow I wipe my tears as I come undone
Fake smiles, all it takes to fool everyone
You were the only one whom they couldn't outrun
But now people calling out my bluff have again turned to noneHow long will it hurt?
I can feel myself fall apart
Sobbing into your shirt
Inhaling comfort, trying my best to outsmart my heartTricking my brain into thinking it's you I am with
As I hug my pillow, mumbling, 'Love is a myth'
And feel the pain make my stupid heart writhe
I open another bottle of wine while already being on my fifthI cry myself to sleep while cursing your name
Screaming about how love is a losing game
As my heart burns in the flame of blame
I would do anything, if only, you, I could reclaimHow long will it hurt?
With you, I lost my own part
Babe, I am still on the outskirt
Where you first called me sweetheartI watched the sun set and rise, knowing it's getting late
Thinking how seeing your name flash on my phone would be great
I can't breathe, let alone sleep when we are separate
My heart versus my mind, tired of listening to this debateYou are gone forever, I make my mind alert
Bury my feelings and tears under layers of dirt
Till when will I feel this disconcert
God, how long will it hurt...?~~~~~~~~~~~~
