18. No Need To Be Perfect

There is no need to be perfect
Oh, love, you are enough
Stop changing the subject
Whenever you are asked if you are rough and tough

You have always given your best
Worked from dusk till dawn
Buddy, you need some rest
From one after another moron

Telling you you are a failure and a waste of space
Screaming how you have always only brought disgrace
The one who always says your mind is not in place
Oh, buddy, they are mere obstacles trying to slow your pace
Cause they themselves never won with life, this race

There is no need to be perfect
Oh, love, you are enough
Imperfection is an aspect
Of being a human - the hub of bluff

You can't ever satisfy or shut people up
The past gives evidence of the same
It's fine to drink on the moonlit roof from a plastic cup
It's fine if not everybody knows your name

You can't degrade yourself to be the one they like
It's like tumbling down after an hour-long hike
And chasing an airplane with a mountain bike
They will hate you again if you miss one single strike
Do you want to be the one whose persona and person are nothing alike?

Why do you want to be perfect?
Oh, love, you are enough
You are a human, not an object
You don't need to be tough...
