38. Never The First + Announcement

Maybe it's my fault that our relationship is cursed
Maybe it's my drawback I could never be the first

Never the first in line
Never the priority
All I can do is pine
Accepting inferiority

I was never enough
And I will never be
Love is a bluff
And contempt reality 

No one ever cares
The world is plain cruel
No one hears the prayers
You chant like a fool

Never the first thought
Never the priority
Only burdens, I have brought
Bothered your seniority

No matter what I did
I could never make it to the top
I was always a pesky kid
For whom you never bothered to stop

You say you were busy
But you'll always be
Now making me dizzy
Is your false apology

Never the first concern
Never the priority
Watched my kingdom burn
Under your authority

I am so tired of hearing
'I had better, important things to do'
I have seen the care disappearing
But now the love has faded too

You are oh so screwed up
And a master of diplomacy
Now you casually go 'What's up?'
But how funny, now I seem 'busy'

Never the first for anything
Never the priority
But the memories no longer sting
As I laugh along with the sorority

Now I see it wasn't my fault that our relationship was cursed
Now I see I don't give a damn if, for you, I was never the first

Hey there, depressed souls! Guess who finally managed a bonus update? ME!(duh).

Pretty proud of this one. The overall theme of never being enough is so common and relatable yet never talked about enough and I thought that this poem did justice to it, to some extent at least.

Now, I have an announcement to make. 

I now have a dedicated author profile on Instagram where I will soon be posting poems and other general updates regularly...or at least I will try my best to. Who knows better than you guys how much I suck at consistency?
