I imagine that JD came across some of the other Troll kingdoms after leaving the Troll Tree (Since he loved to travel around) So He was one of the the only Modern pop trolls who knew about the other Troll Tribes before the events of Trolls World Tour.
He Met His Armadillo Van "Rhonda" While Visiting Lonesome Flats. There Was An Armadillo Farm Where Rhonda was raised, JD Spent All of the money he had just to buy Rhonda. (Including His Clothes 😳) But it was worth it, Because Now JD Had A New Best Friend (And A Home) To keep him company. ^^
