Chapter 24, Bombs Away

Matt's POV

I was expecting this question coming from Andrew, he's very protective of this company. He is assesing her motives,

“Courtney, what are your professional  goals?” Andrew ask bluntly,

“Well, I desire to grow as my experience grows. I like technology, though i'm still learning.” Andrew nods,

“As you realize that in a few months, Matt will be moving to Miami.” Courtney nods with a smile,

“Right. I understand. Can you blame me for wanting to work closer to Matt.?” Andrew nods slowly, then he clears his throat.

“Now tell me why should I switch out Hsiley for you? Considering that Hailey is doing a A rated job for us?”

 I was also expecting  this question from Andrew. I am anxious to hear her answer. We have three bombs to drop. Courtney looks thoughtful for a few moments.

“Hailey may have a littlr more experience than me in technology. isn't there a dept where she can use her tech skills more. Since she's on the outs with Matt on a personal leval. It will help her move on. Then there will be more challenges for me to learn.” I totally expect this answer from her, Courtney doesn't want me to have any contact with Hsiley.

“With me having history with Hailey,  I still desire to have her in my life. Even if it's professional.” Again a thoughtful look came across Courtney’s face,

“I know you have history. Sometimes distance for a woman, will help heal  her heart.” I had to chuckle, as Andrew continues the conversation.

“I really don't  desire to transfer Hailey right now. There's a PA position open in PR dept. it's on this floor. Are you interested?” Courtney thought  for a minute, then she smiles.

“That would be the next best thing. Please for any reason, she ever vacates the position I desire to be considered.” Andrew and I share a knowing look,

“We can consider it. You can start there on Monday. There will be a pay raise.” Courtney ‘s face brightens,

“Thank you!  i'm excited about starting there. I appreciate the consideration.”

 I clear my throat, time for bomb two and three. Courtney looks at me with love in her eyes, though I don't hate the girl I don't have romantic feelings towards her. I tried to  have an emotionless stoic expression.

“Courtney, I’m going to say a few things that are going to be direct and maybe not what to hear. I need you to remain quiet until i'm finished.” Courtney  slowly nods with loving arms,

“What is it, Matt?”  Courtney quietly asks,

“I want you to know that yes, Hailey lost a baby. Upon this, we found out this baby had a twin. So she's still pregnant. And the baby is mine.”

“Matt, even if she is…..” Courtney  starts to interrupt me, but I hold up my hand to silence her,

“Not only  am I going to be a father. But when you blackmailed me, Hailey and I secretly married. You took the ring that I was going to give to Hailey.” Courtney’s mouth drops open,

“You married that whore? Then why did you even spend time with me? Lead me on to the point  I don't care about the pictures. i'm in love with you Matt. I want to marry you to spend the rest of my life with you.”  I shake my head,

“Hailey knows about the pictures, and she trusts me.” I state with determination,

“Why do you trust her? She was seeing Hunter behind your back. She was cheating on you.” I smirk,
