DUSTIN’S POV

Dad suddenly called me earlier. He said that he wants me to go with him to the mall. Bibili raw kasi siya ng tie. Tss. Lame reason though. Alam ko namang gusto lang niya ako makausap. Ilang araw ko na rin kasi siyang iniiwasan. Ilang araw na rin niya ako gustong makausap… But I’ve not been in the perfect mood to talk to him. Masyado akong na-i-stress kapag kausap si Dad =_______=

And I think I’m right…

Meeting up with him is really stressing…

I accidentally saw Chloe at the mall, talking with my Dad. No, now’s not the right time yet for them to be formally introduced. Not here in the mall.

 

“Tingin ko nga po ay babagay itong tie sa boyfriend ko.”

May boyfriend na siya? Who the hell would that be?

“Dustin.”

Tumingin ako kay Dad sa harapan ko. We’re in an expensive restaurant, still inside the mall.

“That girl is nice. You should be friends with her.”

I groaned loudly. Here he goes again, playing Mr. Match maker. “Yeah right,” I retorted sarcastically. “We shouldn’t have met, Dad. I am very busy… Iniistorbo mo ako.”

Hindi talaga sana kami nagkita. Nagkaproblema tuloy ako kay Chloe. Minamalas talaga ako kapag kasama si Daddy. =_______=

Dad threw me his knowing look. “Bakit mo ba sinusungitan ang Daddy mo? Minsan na nga lang tayo magkita, tapos sinusupladuhan mo pa ako.”

I sighed and sipped on my soda, “Sorry. ‘Di mo nga pala sinasadya yung nangyari.” I thought aloud.

“What are you talking about? Anong nangyari?”

Napakamot nalang ako sa kilay ko. Why was I thinking aloud infront of my Dad? May pagkachismoso pa naman siya. Tsk!

“Wala po.” Napailing nalang ako, “Bakit mo ba talaga ako gustong makita, Dad? Bilis na. May pupuntahan pa ako.”

He smiled, “A date?”

I glared at him, “What now, Dad?”

“Basta kapag may girlfriend ka na ulit, ipakilala mo sa akin ha?” He wiggled his brow and smiled foolishly to me. I just showed him my bored look in return. “Anyway, engagement party na ng kapatid mo next week.” He placed a white invitation over the table. “You need to be there.”

Tss. He’s only my step-brother and we definitely don’t treat each other as brothers. He’s a bully of mine. Tsk!

“Wow, ikakasal na siya? Kawawa naman ang mapapangasawa niya.” =_____=

“Dustin, you should come.”

I coldly eyed my Dad, “Yeah, I will.” I stood up and got the invitation, “Sorry Dad, but I really have to go. Bibisita nalang ako sa bahay.” Disappointment is visible on his expression and so I tapped his shoulder and gave him a nod, “Dadalasan ko ang dalaw sa bahay kapag umalis na dun si Thunder.”

He smiled finally. That’s the reason why I find my dad so cool. He acts like my age when in fact he’s already 44 years old. “Take care, Dustin. Huwag papagutom. Mag-girlfriend ka na para may mag-alaga na sayo ha?”
