Shortly after dinner you finally sneaked away from Luanne's hateful gaze and into your room. Everything was exactly in place, everything untouched since this morning. Suddenly something soft and warm rubbed against you, making you grin in delight.

"Well good evening, Mildred," you chuckled at the fat brown cat. Her purrs were like gentle rolling thunder on the horizon. As you gently picked up the feline and cradled her in your arms, you began to look around. Something in the atmosphere felt strange or off. Eventually your eyes landed on something that was lying on your desk. Carefully you propped Mildred on your bed and brought your attention back to the object.

It was a small, deep red book with gold lettering that read "The Labyrinth." As gently as possible you picked up the beaten old book and skimmed through the yellowing ivory pages. Every detail drew you in, the artwork was beautifully detailed and the lettering was done gloriously in calligraphy. What you didn't know was that a familiar creature was perched in the tree near your window. Its beautiful glimmering eyes watched you, admiring you as you admired its book.

Mildred grew tired of being ignored and hopped off the bed. A sudden small noise that sounded somewhat like a sneeze drew her attention. Slowly a low growl rumbled from her throat, you looked over at her. Her tail was fluffed up as she stalked around the room.

"Oh Mildred, you silly cat!" the feline ignored your remark as her amber eyes scoped the area. You had no clue that there were a few guests in your room. Soon enough she gave up and made her way to the door. You quietly chuckled to yourself and plopped onto your bed with the book in your hand.

Your P.O.V

I've never seen this book in my life, where did it come from? I don't remember buying it and it doesn't even have an author. I shrugged it off as I opened it again, a smile spreading across my lips. Surprisingly it didn't smell older than dirt, the smell was more like a fresh book inside a coffee shop.

I finally stopped myself a few chapters in, not wanting to finish the book just yet. As I set the book down, I couldn't help but to think of the Goblin King. He was charming in an odd way and strangely enough he reminded me of the owl. The illustrations showed somewhat of a twinkle in his eyes, just like the bird of prey. I turned off the lights and slowly drifted off to sleep.

Jareth's P.O.V

As I sat on my throne, I couldn't help but to think about F/n. She was a sweet and misunderstood young girl, yet she had the attitude suitable for a queen. As I curiously observed her as she was reading the book through the crystal, a goblin ran up to me. Annoyed, I looked down at her as she moved her fluffy black hair out of her face.

"What is it, Myah?" I sighed as she tidied her skirt. Quickly she grabbed a small scroll out of her pocket and cleared her irritatingly squeaky vocal cords. Suddenly a chicken caught her attention and the hyper little goblin ran after it. I rolled my eyes and brought my attention back to the crystal ball.
