Twinkle twinkle like a star

Ray opened the door just a crack to your room. It was a quarter after midnight and he could hear heavy, constant breathing. He smiled and walked through the crack in the door, silently closing it behind him. The room was dark, but in a mi Ute his mint colored eyes would adjust to the light. Right now, their attention was focused to where he memorized the bed was. He could see small movement of your chest moving up and down from the covers. Your steady breathing. It made a warmth fill his breast.

As I watch you from afar.

He started seeing the darker shapes of objects in the already dark room. That's when he noticed a stray moonbeam shining through the curtains. Ah, how careless. You didn't close the drapes all the way. Ray chcukled softly ans made his way across the room, closing the curtains entirely. We can't have anyone peeping on you after all. That would be terrible! Besides. Only he should be able to see you so vanurable. Only he...

Still so beautiful in the lack of light

Rat walked over to your bed, sitting on the side. He was careful to leave the majority of his weight off of the side so he doesn't wake you or move you in your sleep. In the darkness of the room, your face was still shining bright like a Diamond. A small smile played with your lips despite the fact you don't have the consciousness to give it permission to do as such. You were so beautiful. So precious. Ray loved you unconditionally. Oops. That's V's line.

Ray reaches his hand out to caress your face, before pulling it back. No. He can't. He would disturb you. But it's also much more than that. He started thinking horribly about himself. He doesn't deserve you. He must be a creepy man, coming into your bedroom at the dead of night to touch your face affectionately? That's stalkerish and unacceptable. Why was he here anyways? He was just supposed to check on you to make sure you were asleep. 

Ray felt the tears weld up in his eyes. He was so worthless. He was so terrible. Coming into your bedroom so late at night. Be pried the half black glove off his hand and stuck it in his magenta coat's pocket. He wiped his eyes with the back of his other hand, starting so hard to be silent. He can't wake up his precious star in the dead of night like this, now can he? Wow, he sure is pathetic. Good job Ray...

But he didn't know you woke up the second the door opened.

"...Ray? Why are you crying?"

Ray turned around and saw you sitting up, rubbing your eyes with one hand and reaching for his with your other. Ray flinched when your soft skin touched his, grasping around his wrist. You scooted closer to him, crossing your legs. Wait, you decided you didn't want to sit cross legged so you tucked your legs behind you, practically sitting on your knees but your legs off to the side. It's a hard sitting position to describe.

"(N-name) I-"

You put your finger on his lips, silencing the very kind man who took you into this place and treated you like a princess. His mint eyes gleamed in the darkness, pouring into your own irises. It may be dark, but you memorized Ray so well you knew exactly what you needed to do to cheer your hero up.

 You took your hand and moved it up, entwining his fingers in yours. You brought your body forward, using your hand that was previously on his lips down his back. Your arm followed and snaked around his shoulder to give you a one-sided hug. You placed your chin on his shoulder and sighed happily, showing that you completely did this out of your own consent. You could hear his hitched breathing. He was still crying.

"Don't cry, Ray. I love you."

Ray gasped when he felt your soft lips press against his cheek, right next to his ear. Your breath was on his neck. Ray brought his elf to lift his second arm, reciprocating the hug you oh so graciously we're giving them to him. He did the same, resting his chin on your shoulder. He felt a tear drip down his eye and roll down his cheek, opposing you. It fell onto your shoulder and Ray felt a smile spread over his lips.

"I love you too."

No need to watch from afar
