The ride home was beyond awkward for me after I told Oculus the way to my house and he simply nodded

As he started to drive I couldn't turn my eyes away from him it's like they had a mind of their own

He kept smirking every time he caught me side eyeing him I don't know what was wrong with me I just couldn't look away from him for too long my eyes always seemed to go back to him even when I didn't notice I was staring

At one point he even said "no need to turn away Scar I know It's not usual for you to have a sexy beast take you home" I simply turned towards the window as the tips of my ears turned hot

Fucking idiot

My eyes wondered back to Oculus but he didn't acknowledge my staring this time

He was tensed and gripping the steering wheel so hard his knuckles were turning white

Poor steering wheel

"Get down Scarlett" his voice was serious and left no room for discussion

"Make sure your seat belt is nice a secure" he glanced down at me for a second "it's going to get rough"he mumbled

Next thing I knew the glass to the back window shattered into pieces

"Fuuuck" I heard a somewhat growl come from Oculus it made me jump

The fuck was that

"Did you just gro..." before I could finish my sentence glass began to shatter all around me Oculus made a sharp turn into the woods and punched the gas

I was still laying down but I could clearly seems were speeding past trees and leaves

Our car was jerked forward as something rammed into us from the back

"Scarlett unbuckle you seatbelt NOW" he yelled making me fumble with the seatbelt quickly undoing it

"Get into my lap quickly and duck your head" he moved one of his hands off the steering wheel so I could get into his lap

I quickly moved into his lap but I guess not fast enough because he suddenly yanked me onto his lap and quickly put my head down but not too fast to where it hurt or anything

I heard a loud clanking scratching noise that sounded like metal being bent which made me turn my head to the drivers door

My eyes widened as I saw that my door had been peeled back

"I know damn well these fuckers did not just break my door isn't shooting at us enough" I shrieked as I sat up

Oculus tightened his hold on me completely ignoring my outburst "sorry about what I'm about to do Scar" he looked down to me for a plot second

"Sorry for wh.." oculus sped up to the full speed not caring about the huge tree in front of us that we were now approaching hastily

"Oculus NO ARE YOU CRAZY" I yelled trying to grab the steering wheel only to have him wrap one arm around me and keep me in place

Damn he was strong

"I don't wanna DIEE" I yelled on the verge of tears i had a whole life ahead of me this was not how I wanted it to end

Oculus loosened his hold on me as he began focusing on the tree in front of us that we were headed for

I looked behind us and saw a black SUV hot on our tail

Did they want a death wish could they not see we were headed straight for a tree

As more bullets were fired a sharp pain suddenly ripped through my shoulder I screamed as a searing hot pain had me quickly clutch my shoulder

"Get down Scarlett damn it" Oculus yelled pushing me back down and I whimpered at the pain in my shoulder

"Oculus I'm hit" I yelled out the pain hurt so much my shoulder felt like someone had stuck a freshly burned stake through it

"Fuck Scarlett I said stay down" he yelled at me

He grabbed me with one of his arms securing me in one spot and as the tree was less than 1 inch away he swerved hard making the car behind us crash into the tree instead but the passenger side of my car scraped the tree as well I knew the paint was all types of fucked

The car instantly exploded on impact but Oculus kept driving "sorry about your car" he mumbled

When we were a distance away from the explosion Oculus pulled over and sat me in the passenger seat to where my right shoulder that I'd been shot in was in his reach

"Don't move I have to take the bullet out" he mumbled

I on the other hand backed away from him I did not want anything near my shoulder

"I'm fine it's just a little scratch" I said smiling sweetly at him

"Come here Scarlett NOW I'm going to get the bullet out one way or another by force or by will but it is coming out" His voice was stern almost like scolding a child and left no room for discussion but I still moved away from him in fear of the pain when he dug the bullet out

"It's going to hurt Oculus I don't want it to be touched" I turned my shoulder away from him some more looking down

I felt his hand lift my chin so that I would look at him but I only casted my eyes downward

"Look at me Scarlett" his deep voice rang out softly

I looked up into his grayish blue eyes and he smiled softly at me

"I am not going to hurt you Scarlett I promise I will never ever harm you in any way, shape, or form Scarlett" his voice was filled with sincerity which made me turn my shoulder towards him from better access

"I'm trusting you Oculus"

Sooo this chapter was...lame
But it's okay better chapters are to come I think it's about time Scarlett and Oculus start to discover things about each other... don't you
