I squeezed my eyes shut and waited to feel Oculus's hand digging around for the burden in my shoulder but that feeling never came

Instead

I felt a hand under my chin and I flinched a bit in surprise when I opened my eyes and looked up at Oculus he no longer had his shades on and I was staring right into his red eyes

Suddenly all those dreams I had about the red eyes came back to me

"It was you" I whispered in shock and awe

The same eyes that I couldn't keep off my mind the same eyes I thought I'd only dreamt about were staring into my face right now

The same eyes that left me speechless

"Ruby?" I asked making his face scrunch in distaste

"That is a rather disgusting nickname Scar my name is not..ruby" his words were laced with disgust as he said the nickname I made for him

"How are you..what are you ru..oculus" my voice was a mere whisper i wasn't sure he even heard me

"I'm glad you asked love, for now let's just say I'm your protector and those men" he said referring to the people who were chasing us " were after you, why, I cannot tell you just yet because it is not time"

"Why didn't you just tell me it was you and why did you hurt me Oculus you gave me snake bites on my stomach and it was painful as fuck" my voice was slowly raising as anger began to build within me

"It was to protect you I MUST protect YOU Scarlett" Oculus said his voice sincere

"Why me I am not special Oculus I am just Scarlett w.."

"And that is what makes you special because you are Scarlett Brown"my name rolling off his tongue sent shivers down my spine

"Scarlett I cannot explain everything right now we have to go love"

"I am not going.." I was about to protest but he put his hands on my forehead

"I'll be here when you wake but we have to go Scarlett" Oculus closes his eyes "Sleep" and then I saw darkness
