Lorenzo's POV

I never thought, when I would finally find her after 13 years, this was what I would get to hear. Her spine-chilling scream. The feeling of being victorious after successfully trapping Hunt vanished the moment we all heard her downstairs. The environment of the place instantly changed into something similar to that I felt 13 years ago exactly on this day.
All of us were looking at each other with fear stricken expressions, except Hunt. Even though he was on the floor beaten up by my brothers, he had the nerve to smile.

"That means Arthur woke up!" Veronica said in panic.

"But how? He was supposed to be sedated for few more hours." Vanessa looked baffled.

"Fratello, Dante was busy managing the men and I was engaged in helping him with directions to certain places. I caught a sight of Arthur holding Ava off the window sill from one of the cameras. Without a second thought I went to Dante. And we came here to tell you guys but.."
Matteo explained quickly.

First reaction of all of us was to head towards the stairs intending to go to her but we were stopped by Ryan.
I looked at him in confusion.
"What are you doing? She needs me!"

"Lorenzo, don't be stupid. If she sees you right now she will get emotional and Arthur might take advantage of the situation. Let me go." Ryan tried to reason with me.

"No matter how much I want to go upstairs right away, I think Ryan has a point. Can't risk him getting panicked seeing us all there to tear him apart. He might hurt her." Dante agreed with Ryan.

"But.." Romeo started to argue.

"Fratello.." The twins joined him too.

"No! Dante is right. Ryan. 10 minutes. I want her here in front of our eyes in 10 minutes. A second more and I'll come upstairs as well." Ryan ran towards Arthur's room immediately.

"Dante, Romeo, Stefen, go outside and warn the men to watch closely, just in case he tries to escape."
They nodded and left.

"You don't know my son, Lorenzo. If he feels even a little bit threatened, he will not go down alone. He will take Ava with him." Hunt said getting up from the floor, grunting in pain.

"Ryan won't let anything happen to Ava. Trust us Lorenzo." The twins sisters said confidently.

"Yeah, they are right. Brother is too smart for punks like Arthur." Arlo confirmed.

I looked back at Hunt and grabbed him by his collars.
"Listen to me, cazzo. If I find her harmed in any way, I will tear your son apart limb by limb and make you watch the whole thing. So you better pray that he doesn't do that kind of stupidity." I released him harshly making him stumble backwards.

"We all know what kind of Psycho your son is. Just like you." Veronica said to him.

"We've heard about the stories of his disgusting adventures with women and drugs." Vanessa joined her sister.

Hunt was turning red with rage and in that anger, he grabbed Vanessa by throat.
Marco and Matteo moved towards them but Arlo held them by their arms. We looked at him, he shook his head and then pointed towards the girls.

I saw Veronica laughing hysterically.
"Oh boy, wrong move, old man. Wrong move."

Vanessa slammed both her hands on his arm holding her neck, with so much force that we heard a crack. Veronica grabbed his other arm and twisted it backwards. He yelled in pain.
"We don't spare the parts of our enemies which dare to touch us. Say goodbye hands!"
And with that they moved so quickly and gracefully.
All we heard was series of cracks and screams from Hunt.

Marco and Matteo looked so awed and impressed by the girls, they had their jaws dropped.
I cleared my throat. They recovered quickly and tried to hide away their embarrassment by looking anywhere but the girls.

"Marco, Matteo, take him to the basement." I ordered them.
Hunt was rolling on the floor in pain, hands held closely to his body.
They both grabbed him by his shoulders and made him get up causing him to cry out even more.

"Ryan still isn't back." Arlo pointed out.

"That's it I'm going." I said and ran up the stairs removing my gun on the way.

When I reached there, the door was open. Ryan was holding bloodied Arthur against the dressing table and punching him in the face nonstop.
I was about to move forward to step in but saw Arthur picking up a flower vase from the table to hit Ryan.
"No!" I heard Ava scream.
Without wasting another second, I lifted my gun and shot two bullets at Arthur. One hit his right shoulder and the other penetrated his upper arm.

My eyes left the boys and instantly landed on Ava.
Everything else was lost to me.
Ava, my little sister, was in front of my eyes, alive.
After all the efforts and all the sacrifices, I finally found her.

I kept my promise Papa. I found your principessa.

Ryan went to her and tried to help her get out of the shock.
My eyes landed on the blood covering the left side of her face. The patches of blood were highlighted by her white wedding dress.
I looked back towards her face.
Even with all the wounds, she looked beautiful.

Just like Mama. She looks exactly like mother.

I could not understand what exactly I was feeling in that moment.

Relief? Happiness? Brotherly Love? Gratefulness?

Maybe all of those and more.

And then she looked my way. Her eyes first landed on my gun. Then slowly moved upwards and met mine.
Her eyes widened and I saw her realizing who I was.
She whispered in disbelief, "Lorenzo."
And that moment was the happiest moment of my life after her birth.

She recognized you Enzo.
Even after so many years. She hasn't forgotten you.

"Sorellina."
