Note: Last chapter was kinda bland, so I attempted to make this more visual and descriptive. And dedicated to Trezima for being my first real reader <33

Chapter Two - Unedited

When my eyes fluttered open, I found myself in an unfamiliar room with comforting blue walls. The room was spacious and furnished with vintage pieces of furniture. Art littered the walls, and I was mesmerized by all the original pieces of artwork from various famous artists. The bed I was situated on was very plush, and I was tucked under a cozy floral comforter. This mattress was fit for a King, and I, out of all people, was snuggled up in it.

I didn't remember making my way into someone's home. Actually, I barely remembered anything at all. I remembered having to run from Xavior's pack, speeding through the forest like a bolt of lightning. I had exerted so much energy that my muscles gave out on me, and I was glued to the forest floor. I assumed I had faded away after some time. Or maybe there was more to the story. I couldn't be sure, all the memories were fuzzy.

Where the hell was I?

I heard someone grip the doorknob before the door even creaked open. My eyes shot over to the person entering my room. My body tensed, causing an ache to travel through my muscles. The figure opened the door, and I couldn't stifle the gasp.

The smell.

That smell.

Mate.

He was tall, and every inch of his body was covered in nice tone muscle. His sharp, sculpted face was hiding behind the shag of his dark hair. Blue eyes pierced into my gaze, and they were just as cold as his stony emotionless face.

"You're awake," He said blandly. Thanks for stating the obvious, I needed more details than that.

"Who are you?" I whispered, my voice hiding. He kept a gap between us, yet managed to close the distance with his eyes. His arms were crossed, and he straightened his back; his demeanor screamed power.

"Raphael," His voice had taken on a deep timbre and a husky edge towards that simple response. "And, who are you?"

"Cora." I barely managed to audibly say my name.

His eyes shifted around, avoiding my gaze. I tried to look him in the eyes, but he refused to hold onto the contact.

"Where am I?" The words were louder than I intended them to be.

"My house," I couldn't tame the flutters erupting from my heart. His fresh woodsy and mint smell was full of decadence, and was quite enticing. "You wandered into Black Blood territory."

The Black Blood pack? My heart stopped beating for a split second. I was being held in a house on their territory. This pack was the most gruesome and powerful pack in this region. Everyone and anyone heard of them from all across the nation. Their Alpha, Algernon, was rumored to sink his teeth into raw human flesh to reserve strength and stay in Alpha position for eternity. It was also said that he was immortal.

What if I was being held captive and they were planning to sacrifice me to the Devil? It didn't seemed too far fetched. They probably needed to sacrifice a wolf every so often to ensure their own immortality. After all, Algernon had been in power for an innumerable amount of years. His time as Alpha should have been passed on by now.

"Are you an Argent or a Blue River pack member?" His voice caught me off guard. Why was he interested in who I was? Why was everyone so intrigued with me? And what reason did he have to believe I was an "Argent"?

"Former Blue River member," I hesitated before answering. The words barely slipped past my lips.

"Are you an Argent now?" Raphael's blue eyes bore into mine. There was a war of fire and ice swirling around in those irises.
