"Hey, girlie!"

You ignored it and began to walk a little faster.

"Hey! I know you heard me!" "Why're you walking so fast, huh?" "Why don't you stop a second?" They kept shouting to you until you were running around the block.

You heard them chasing after you, and unfortunately, they caught up. The first being Charlie Hogan, who grabbed you and kept you from running away from them.

Ace and his other little Cobra cronies stood in front of you sneering. "You thought you could run away, huh? Listen little girl, when I say stop," he got real close, "I mean stop."

You struggled against Charlie's scrawny, yet somehow unyielding arms. "Let.. go.. of me!" you yelled, trying to kick him in the legs. You glared at Ace.

"Hold still you little brat. It'll be a lot easier to get your eye if you stop moving around so much." As he said this, he drew back his fist, and your breathing stopped as you awaited impact.

It came in a flash, leaving you out of it. You heard yelling, but you were too confused to really process what was happening until you were pulled down and then up again.

You were suddenly running, holding someone's hand. You finally stopped running when you got several blocks away. You collected yourself and realized it was Chris, your best friend.

Before you could say anything, he pulled you into his arms. He held onto you securely, like you might runaway. You gripped him just as tightly.

You wanted to cry, and you did, but not without a great pain in your eye where you had been punched. "Thank you," you whispered between sobs. "Thank you so... so much."

He rubbed your back, letting you cry. "Sh.. Haydi, it's okay."

When you stopped crying, you slowly pulled away from Chris, not wanting to but knowing you should. He made a certain face when looked at you.

"Is my eye that bad already?"

He looked sympathetic. He'd had his fair share of black eyes. "Yeah, but it's going to get worse if you don't take care of it. I'll walk you home."

"Thanks, Chris." You gave him a smile, which he readily returned. "You're always there for me."

"Well, yeah. That's because you're always there for me." He grabbed your hand as you two continued down the street.

I know it's short, but I hope you like it! Thank you for requesting. M'kay.
