"Stop! Put me down! Have you lost your mind?" Jumoke yelled as she struggled out of his strong grip.

Suddenly, Joel halted and set her down as she stood still, still glancing at Joel with shock written on her face.

She still tried to process what just happened.

Joel had scooped her up, in the middle of the school compound, with teachers watching and even Jayden.

“What was that?!” Jumoke asked in a hushed yell as she looked at him as if he had grown two heads.

She couldn't understand why he just picked her up like that.

“Relax. You obviously are not looking fine. So, I had to do something” He told her casually as he opened up the back seat car door.

Then he urged his nephew to go in as Jayden, entered into the car with a grin.

Jumoke stared at Jayden as she wondered what could be going through the little boy's mind.

Joel slammed the back door shut as he opened the front passenger's seat for Jumoke as she still stood there with folded hands, with her mind still replaying what had happened minutes ago.

“Get in” Joel instructed her curtly as he gestured her to get in with his hands.

“Uhrm, no. Thank you” Jumoke declined as Joel huffed at how stubborn she was being again.

He had made up his mind to steer clear off Jumoke, and maybe she wouldn't misunderstand him anymore but he instead found himself carrying her out the school.

“Just get in,Jummy. I don't have time for this” Joel told her with a frustrated look as Jumoke couldn't help but feel sad about his new cold attitude towards her.

“Oh right. You have a date to get to.” Jumoke muttered with a pout as Joel couldn't quite grasp what she had just said but instead placed his hands on her shoulders and nudged her into the car.

He closed the door afterwards and walked towards the drivers seat as Jumoke's eyes stayed glued to her shoulder, still thinking of the warmth she felt when his hands where on her shoulders...

Her mind couldn't help but drift off, going back to when he carried her and how safe she had somehow felt in his strong arms.

“Stop” She said to herself in a whisper as she shook off the thoughts and instead decided to check up on Jayden.

As she glanced at him, she noticed his eyes were already on her, with a wide smile on his face.

“Heyyy, do you mind letting me in on the joke?!” She asked him as Jayden scrunched his face up in confusion.

Jumoke chuckled a bit as Joel finally got into the drivers seat as she tried to ignore him.

“Why are you smiling?!” Jumoke simplified as she still held up a smile.

Jayden just shyly shook his head and buried his face into his hands.

Cute!!

Jumoke thought as she laughed at his behaviour before facing front and looking forward, trying to ignore the intense stares Joel was giving her.
