Every person Catherine flew past stopped to stare her as if she were a mad woman. None of that mattered to her right now, not even her current appearance. Her hair pulled behind her head, free from its confined hairstyle. The bonnet long gone where ever it was last placed. In other words, she did not act, behave, or look like a proper lady of her status. Usually, she tended to care but at the moment, she didn't. At this point, she only had one goal: find Will. Where he could be, she knew not, but she knew she had to find him and find him fast.

As she ran past townspeople and wagons, speeding by the different shops and stands, her thoughts spiraled around in her head, all revolving around the pirate, Theodore, and Elizabeth. What a few hours had she endured with various emotions felt. A proposal had been presented to her and she said no. Guilt still strung up in her chest. She had known Theodore for some time but never did she expect a proposal from him, or anyone who served under Commodore Norrington for that matter. Then Elizabeth nearly dying still made her limbs shake. Catherine couldn't help but wonder what could have happen if her cousin did. She knew she would be devastated, feeling a piece of her soul ripped from her if she did. A part of her couldn't help but admit she was relieved for Jack Sparrow being in Port Royal, right where Elizabeth had plummeted into the ocean.

"Stupid maids, did not know how to properly put on a corset." She snapped in her head.

Catherine's mind instantly locked back on the thought of Jack Sparrow. She still could not believe she allowed herself to admit that pirate was attractive. Jack Sparrow was a pirate, nothing else more. He threatened Elizabeth life...but he also saved it? Was he a criminal or an antihero? Catherine was beyond lost for what to make of him at this point, but she knew for certain, next time she saw him, she'd give him a piece of her mind. What that would be, she hadn't the slightest clue on that either.

Just as Catherine slid around a small group of gossiping wives, stopping right outside of Mr. Brown's smithy, she spot Will. He had reached the barndoor, not paying any bit attention to the world around him.

"Will!" Catherine hollered her friend's name, pushing the rich wives out of the way. She ignored the squeals and distasteful comments to her, not caring as they called her names or spat in her direction. Slipping through them, she finally caught Will's attention, making him freeze and turn around.

The man raised a brow, taking in her appearance as she heaved to capture her breathing again. "You look like a complete wreck." Will commented.

Catherine glared at him. "Thank you, I had no idea. I was only running about dealing with Elizabeth's near death, a pirate, the Commodore, and running about looking for you. I forgot to make myself look presentable; I'll remember that for next time." She snapped sarcastically, smoothing out her light olive green gown, then ruffling out her fiery curls.

"I didn't mean it like that, Catherine." He looked at her apologetically, walking up to her. Grabbing her biceps, he leaned his head down to study her face, comfortingly rubbing her shoulder. "Are you alright? I heard what happened about Elizabeth."

The young woman gave a sigh, exhaustion and defeat written across her face. At this point, with each thing she endure, she couldn't help but let her walls down. "So much had happen, Will. Even before any of the stuff with that pirate." Her shoulders slumped, capturing Will's attention. Instantly, Will pulled her into a brotherly hug, cradling the back of her head.

"Tell me what happened then." He whispered to her in her ear. Pulling back and holding her face, he looked her in her eyes, growing even more protective over Catherine in that moment. It was a trait she loved about him, a reason why she always knew he was the best of friend, and would be a perfect husband for Elizabeth.
