The blade wedged itself into the wooden pole of the platform as Jack dropped down. Time and fate was on Will's side today it seemed. The pirate balanced himself on the thin metal, careful to steady himself from avoiding death.

Catherine let out a sigh, nearly fainting from relief. "You go below, I'll cut him down, free him from his restraints!" Will ordered, his voice raising over the chaos.

"Got it!" She shouted, dipping around the crowd as Will rushed up the stairs.

Out of the sunlight and into the shade, she skidded across the dirt to stop before Jack's feet frozen on the spar sword Will threw. Her brows furrowed, looking up at the wooden floorboard. Will really did have all this planned out; he knew how he was going to save Jack all along. The thumping of the wood and the clash of metal above made Catherine's breath pick up. Anxiety swirled in her stomach as she waited for Jack to drop.

Then she froze.

What was she going to say to Jack when she saw him? How was she going to say she still loved him, and she was going to leave with him.

"Hi, Jack! Glad you aren't dead. By the way, I'm running away with you!"

Men shouting caused Catherine to pull herself from her thoughts. Snapping around, she watched as the Commodore and his men began to pour into the crowd, growing closer and closer. "Will, we've got company!" She shouted.

"Catherine?" The young women froze at the soft mentioning of her voice.

Jack.

He didn't know that she was there.

Before she could open her mouth, Will's voice reached her ears. "Catherine, now!"

Jumping back, she watched Jack fall to the ground, landing perfectly on his feet. His eyes latched on to hers instantly. The both of them were silent for a moment.

"You...you came for me?" Jack's voice was soft, full of disbelief.

Catherine threw a quick glance over her shoulder, rushing forward to cut the ropes from him. "Of course I came for you. If anyone is going to kill you, it's going to be me." There was a playfulness in her voice, but also a homage to her past feelings towards him.

That grin, his grin, grew on his lips. "I wouldn't have it any other way, love."

God, did she miss him.

Miss his voice.

Miss his presence.

Miss that nickname.

Catherine looked at him in awe, not fully believing just yet that he was alive and standing right before her. "I love you," She panted, her heart ramming in her chest.

The pirate took her by surprise by pulling her close to him by her waist. His lips pressed against hers, causing her to make a little startled noise in her throat. And did she kiss back, kissing back on those dangerously intoxicating lips of his. She gripped his shoulders molding her mouth with his. When they parted, Jack tilted his head, scrunching his brows. "I thought you hated me?" He asked, feigning his confusion.

In that moment, Catherine couldn't help but shake her head and giggle. A small voice told her in any other moment, she shove him and roll her eyes, but right now, she couldn't help but admire it, stupid as it was.

"I know you both are having a moment, but we unfortunately don't have time for it right now." Will's voice appeared beside them, causing the two to part, blushing like mad.

Jack began to take off his noose, handing one end to Will as the three ran. "We'll take these three, Catherine, you get those two." Jack nodded behind her.
