Gusto ko mang kasama si Addessa palagi ay hindi ko magawa dahil sa trabaho. Kaya naman silang dalawa ni Ahira ang lumalabas tuwing shift ko. Bumabawi nalang ako tuwing natatapos ang trabaho.
"This one's heaven!" Addessa commented as she ate her gelato.
I prepared a three-course meal for dinner. They all loved the food and even praised me for putting a personal touch on them.
"Thank you," I said.
"Should I transfer schools? I think I'll always gonna crave for the food you prepare," si Ahira.
"Well, your mom will surely love that," si Daddy.
"On second thought..."
Tumawa kami habang umiiling si Mommy.
"You really have a talent for baking and cooking, Athaliah. I thought you just liked baking then. Magaling ka rin palang magluto," Addessa said.
"Don't give me too much praise. I'm just a prep cook."
"For now but I bet you'll be a renowned chef in the future!"
"I agree, hija. Kaya wala ring masabi ang mga katrabaho niya kahit na propesyunal na ang mga iyon sa larangan."
"I heard nga po that she's working at a Michelin-starred restaurant. That's great for reference in the future."
"Well, sulitin na natin habang libre pa. Baka ilang taon nalang ay kailangan na nating bayaran iyong pagkaing inihahanda niya," Ahira joked.
"Indeed!" segunda naman ni Addessa.
Umiling nalang ako. Inangat ni Daddy ang kanyang wine glass at pinatunog iyon gamit .
"What's dinner without wine? Well, salute!"
"You really are not good at giving words for wine toasting, 'Dy," si Ahira habang inangat namin ang kanya-kanyang wine glass.
Tumawa ulit kami bago sumimsim sa baso.
"Well, I would like to thank Addessa for spending her time with this 'not so crazy' family," Mommy said as she looked at Addessa who was sitting beside me. "Thank you, hija. It means a lot to us."
"Thank you for having me as well, Tita Jez, Tito Dom. I needed this vacation, too."
I looked at Addessa and reached for her hand. I squeezed it. She smiled at me.
Addessa and I spent our time inside my room. We practically sleep on the same bed since her first night here.
"Try n'yo namang lumipat sa kabilang kwarto para may use naman iyong separate rooms," Ahira joked when she learned about it.
"Just go to your room," I just said. Tumawa lang ang kapatid ko pero ginawa rin naman niya.
Addessa was busy putting some products on my face. She was teaching me about having a skincare routine.
"What's this called again?" I asked as I lifted a white tub on my vanity table. It was the one she was applying on my face at the moment
"Night cream," Addessa replied. "As I was saying, this should be how you apply it. Huwag lang pinupunas."
"Okay po, Doc," I joked.
"Well thank you but I'll be an engineer... Hopefully."
Napatingin ako sa kanya sa salamin. I never really knew what she wanted to take for college.
