"How the fuck is today not over yet?" I complained to Taliah as we stepped into the lunch line.

She chuckled at my grumpiness. "It ain't even been that bad." She said reaching for a slice of pizza.

"To you." I said reaching for a yogurt and granola. "Girl, where we-" My sentence was cut off by someone bumping into me.

I turned around with an involuntary stank look on my face. My expression softened when the girl started apologizing and moved to pick up my yogurt. Long brown hair covering her face.

"I'm really sorry." She said, handing me my food.

I accepted it, as well as her apology. "Nah, it's cool." I looked at her face and choked a little. "Emily?" I said without thinking.

She stared at me for a bit, probably trying to determine if she knew me from somewhere. "Uh, do I know you?" She said with a confused look on her face.

"Uh no." I looked at Taliah who was trying to decide if she wanted an apple juice or an orange juice. "Let's go, T." I grabbed her hand as she picked up the orange carton and gently pulled her along so we could pay for our food.

"You good?" She asked me as we walked in search of a place to sit.

I placed my tray on a free table and sat down. "You remember a few days ago when we were walking and we saw that crazy ass lady yelling at her kid?" I continued when she nodded. "Well, her kid just bumped into me."

She looked at me with amusement in her eyes. "No way." She said laughing.

"She should be somewhere in here." I turned my head in search of the topic of our conversation. My eyes landed on her sitting by herself. "Right there." I said, nodding in her direction.

Taliah looked at her and giggled. "That shit was mad funny though."

"It really was." I said, also laughing at the memory. I thought for a second. "Let's go sit with her."

Taliah picked up her tray and got up. "Bet." We walked over to where Emily sat and stood by the table. "Can we sit here?"

Emily looked up at us, her blue eyes lighting up in recognition when they landed on me. "Yes please." She said laughing. "So how'd you know my name?" She said as we sat down.

T and I shared a look. "Um...I'm clairvoyant." I said clearing my throat. As funny as that situation was I didn't want her to feel uncomfortable with us because of it.

"Ok then." She bit down on a baby carrot. "So Ms. Clairvoyant and Ms. Pretty over here," She said nodding to Taliah, "do you guys have names?"

Taliah blushed at the compliment. Her light brown skin allowing us to see a bit of pink on her cheeks. "I'm Taliah, but you can call me T."

"Ria, but you can call me Ri."

"And I'm Emily, but you already know that." She laughed.

We spent our whole lunch period talking and laughing about random stuff. We learned a few things about Em too, like how she's a senior and she just moved from Maryland, to our little city of Temecula.

I guess I might have a new friend.

I walked into my fifth period; US History, and groaned when I saw people already occupying the back seats of the class.

I moved to the next best position which was more towards the middle and pulled out my phone per usual.

"Do you ever put that phone down?" I heard a voice say from beside me.

Lord, why is there someone in my business right now?

I turned my head and was met with none other than Liam. The beauty of his grey eyes made me swallow my snarky response.

"Only when there's someone to talk to or someone to do." I replied. He laughed. Oh my God. "I mean or something to do." I corrected, slightly embarrassed.

"Well I'm here now." He said with a wink. He reached his hand out to me, "Liam Wells."

I firmly shook his hand, with a smile on my face. "Ria Rose."

"Pretty name," He said as he released my hand, "for a really pretty girl."

I tucked a braid behind my ear, "Thank you." I said, trying my hardest not to grin from ear to ear at his compliment.

He reached into his bag and pulled out the same novel from earlier and paused as if he was contemplating something.

He then pulled out his phone and handed it to me. "Can I get your number, Ria?"

I took the device with no hesitation and put in my digits. I saved my contact as "Ria💗" and gave him back his phone.

He smiled at it and then looked up at me. "Let's be friends, Ria."

I smiled at him, "Yeah, I'd like that."

I guess I have another friend now.
