Linh's POV:

I let the light from the leap fade away while I messed with a strand of my crimped hair. I carefully walked to the front of Rimeshire, and that's when I saw Wylie. I went from a soft pace to a full sprint as I crashed into his arms. I know I just saw him yesterday, but sometimes it feels like decades. I pulled back, and gave him a once-over. It was a casual navy-blue suit, and his cape was pinned to his left side with the moonlight Team Valiant pin. His hair was close-cropped, as always.

"Hey," I smiled, "how are you, Wylie? Excited for our double-date with Dex and Marella?"

Wylie's POV:

I saw the gentle glare of light from the corner of my eye, and I knew right away that it was Linh. I turned to see her fall into my chest. She pulled back and smiled that brilliant smile I love.

"Hey, how are you, Wylie? Excited for our double-date with Dex and Marella?" I nodded.

"Yep! I love your outfit, it's beautiful; as always. Especially on you." After an adorable blush, I looked her over again.

She ditched the blue she always wore, and this time chose a dark garnet red.

It was a dress that cut off at her knees in the front, and left a mini trail in the back. There was a lace over the top half, and the belt was embroidered with silver waves. Half of her hair was up in a bun at the top of her head, and the other half was left down.

No gems were pinned, except for a single opal hairpin in the bun.

Linh's POV:

He complimented me! Wylie always does that a lot, but I still get flustered. I gave him a medium-sized box, it was red velvet, the same shade of my dress.

"For me?" He looked up like an adorable puppy getting a big treat. He opened the box. I bit my pink glossed lip. Inside were four cloth cuffs, one pair white and the other a blue-grey. On the top of the cuffs, there were silver words:

WYLIE ENDAL+ LINH SONG

They were crush cuffs. It was tradition for the boy to get them, but this was one of The Group. We can do whatever we want. Well, kinda.

Wylie's POV:

She got me crush cuffs, and they were absolutely beautiful! I didn't know what to say, but I did know what to do. I snapped on the blue pair, the color of her eyes. She took the white ones, the closest thing to the color of my powers, and snapped those on.

Then another flash of light came from the entrance of Rimeshire (we were inside the large porch). Marella was here!

Linh's POV:

Marella arrived. She had a periwinkle strapless dress on, one of the dresses that hugged the waist and hips, then flared out at the knees. Her makeup was immaculate, and instead her multi-braid hair was up in a bun, and her hairpin was emerald, the color of Dex's light circle, or what the Valiant members told me when they went to Eternalia.

We chatted for a bit, discussing the foods we would like to try at the Golden Rose, the restaurant Stina and Fitz suggested for us. Dex came out, wearing an emerald suit (where did he get that?) and a cape secured with a moonlight pin.

"Hey guys!" Dex ran out the door, slamming it in three little faces which were currently screaming,

"HI DEX'S GIRLFRIEND!!!" He flushed as he jogged up to us.

"Sorry about them." I laughed,

"It's fine. Not so different from living with Tam." Wylie grinned,

"He's not that bad." Shrugging, I held up a crystal that led straight to the restaurant. Holding hands, we let the shimmering specks whisk us away.

Dex's POV:

Woah. I stared up at the Golden Rose, boy was it fancy. Marella slipped her hand into mine, and I shivered as lighting raced up my arms. Inside, everything was coated with gilded roses and glimmering with diamonds.

Marella looked around at the lights dancing around us. Wylie walked up to the host stand and gave our names. He directed us to a table with a rose gold table cloth, sparkling with gilded rose petals. It was almost overkill.

I pulled out a chair for Marella. "For you, my lady," I said with a flourish, and a mock British accent (Sophie had taught me it). She giggled and sat down.

"Thank you, my good sir!" We had recently watched another human movie with a British cast. Or was it Irish? Either way, they completely misrepresented the races. Dwarves don't pick locks like that! Elves aren't as young as that, and they don't get old!

It was hilarious (they watched Artemis Fowl)! Wylie pulled out a chair for Linh, she sat, and he slid in next to her. We were all outside, on a large brick patio, looking over the streets below.

Marella giggled once more, pointing to the menu, it was decorated with swirling rose print. I grinned, remembering the joke.

Marella's POV:

The place was so overdone, it was like a dream! I loved it. When I saw the pattern on the menu, I couldn't help but laugh and show Dex. We were at his house, and the triplets decided to make us 'dinner'. We ate nothing, of course. The hand-drawn out menus had had a rose print, and Bex tried to sing while Rex dropped flowers on our heads. Lex, the charming little munchkin he is, was our server. Bex's songs were, as she called it, songs of love.

They were Level Threes and already more mature than a Level Four boy who was turned down by a Level Five girl. We ordered, and watched as hedberry soup arrived on golden platters. I love overkill. Even the utensils were engraved with diamonds! I looked at Linh and Wylie to see how they reacted to the place. They loved it!

Then, I saw Linh's wrists as she was talking to Dex. There were white cuffs... CLOTH CUFFS! CRUSH CUFFS!!! I squealed, drawing her attention. She blushed, but didn't push her sleeves down. I elbowed Dex.

"Dex... look. At. Their. Wrists." I muttered out of the corner of my mouth. He looked adorably flustered.

"Well... they're not going to be the only ones..." He pulled out an orange box, and opened it for me. My pair was emerald with blue engravings.

DEX DIZZNEE + MARELLA REDEK

Oh my goodness! They were perfect! Then he cleared his throat again. Did he do something to them? "Marella, I added sensors on the back. They're heat-activated. When your ability gets out of your control, they activate and spritz water on your hands so that way they extinguish any runaway and rogue flames." He said this quietly, obviously, but they felt like shouts. S

till, I squealed and flung my arms around him,

"Thank you Dex!" I cried, kissing him on the cheek. Linh and Wylie were watching this with a face of amusement and adoration for us, like they knew this would happen.

"Hey! You guys were in on this!" I accused, laughing.

"Maybe, maybe not," Wylie chuckled slyly. Linh kissed him on the cheek. Her lipgloss left tiny marks there, but he didn't notice. He was too busy being all flustered.

Wylie's POV:

After dinner I leaped back with Linh, knowing she had been underwater for a remarkably long time. She was looking a little strained. Back at Tiergan's house, she kissed me goodnight, and I went to my room, grinning like an idiot. She is so perfect, I sighed.
