I wiped the sweat off my forehead as we stood in Miss Faragonda her office, waiting for her to say what we should do next. We managed to fight the creatures off but I know they will return soon and I dreaded for that to come, after all, we weren't prepared at all.
"I'm afraid that our little victory won't last long girls." Faragonda frowned, she looked stressed and I couldn't blame her, the school is getting attacked, we are fighting for our lives, her own students and yet we didn't know the outcome. "Red Fountain is going to draw in the next wave of attacks, but it is only a diversion."
I pursed my lips in a straight line, now worried for my Specialist friends. "Are they going to be okay?"
"We can only hope so, [Name]." Faragonda sighed out and that didn't subside the worry I felt for my friends. "Once Red Fountain falls, they'll turn their attention back to us, but Alfea girls never give up, no matter how slim the hope, [Name] and Bloom hold the key to all of our hopes."
Bloom and I exchanged looks of confusion before turning back to Miss Faragonda. "..We do?"
"If one candle is used to light another fire passes on, but the original flame still glows." I understood the meaning behind Faragonda's words. "You see, they can take the fire from you, but they can't take your ability to burn Bloom." Faragonda casted a spell, a hologram appearing of Domino. "You're the Princess of Domino which means you're the only one who can use the flame to its full potential."
"But the Witches have the flame now." Flora pointed out, rather confused while I was just annoyed, Miss Faragonda was talking in riddles and that didn't help whatsoever.
"Not all of it." Miss Faragonda stated to our surprise. "In its days, Domino and Aalto were the greatest evolved planets, the Dragon Flame and the Water Dragon were the sources of life, but then then the Water Dragon disappeared and the flame soon extinguished, it was cast into eternal winter." The hologram now showed an image of a place covered in ice and snow. "As Aalto and Domino were connected Aalto was completely destroyed."
Unsconsciously, my fists clenched, my nails digging in my skin, feeling a new feeling wash over me.
Grief, grief for my people.
"Since I'm the heir I can go to Domino, relight the flame and absorb its power, is that right?" Bloom concluded and Miss Faragonda nodded at that, confirming what she said.
"However.." Miss Faragonda paused, as if hesitating before continuing. "It's dangerous."
Seeing the worried look on Bloom her face, I laid a hand on her shoulder. "We'll be with you, no matter what."
"That's right!" Flora nodded, determination flowing in her eyes. "You can always count on us."
"No matter what, we've got your back." Stella added, flashing Bloom a small smile.
