"David Hawke and Phil Brown," the announcer speaks on the loud speakers, calling them to the ring.

My palms are slightly sweaty as I'm next with Rose Garcia.

She is the best in her club and it scares me.

She's new to this state, but has won tournaments in New York.

I take a deep breath and look around for Zac, but he's nowhere to be found.

My breath is shakey, but when I look at the two boxers in the ring, I whine when Phil got a strike in the stomach.

I don't know either of them, but I've seen them around in previous tournaments.

When their match is over, I take a gulp of water and look at the stop watch.

I'm on in three minutes

"There you are," Zac says.

"I'm nervous," I let out another shakey breath.

"What if I mess up," I groan.

"Hey," Zac whispers, holding my shoulders.

"You're a badass girl and you need to stop doubting yourself, you hear me?" He states.

His tone is serious and I know not to argue.

"Okay, I got this," I give him a firm nod and he hugs me.

"For good luck," he tells me, kissing my cheek.

My lips part in shock, but I brush it off.

"Emma White and Rose Garcia," the announcer speaks and I know its time.

"You've got this," I mumble, stepping into the ring.

Derek meets me there, going through all the rules again, but I just scan through the crowd, seeing Jake and Sarah.

"It's time, Champ," Derek grins and I grin back.

I put in my mouth gaurd.

With the clap of my gloves, I stand before her, ready to fight.

Her hair is blonde and her eyes blue, I would never have guessed she boxes.

Zac didn't think I box either

The ring of the bell wrenches me from my thoughts and we begin.

She barely gets an opening to send a blow to my side, before I hit her side.

She lets out a small groan and ignores it, like it didn't happen.

Her face is monotone and shows no emotion, which scares me.

A few minutes have past and we're on our final round.

It began with her trying to hit me, but I'd just dodge.

This time as I'm about to hit her, she takes the chance and kicks me in my stomach.

Hard

I Whince from the impact, stumbling back a bit.

She takes me off gaurd again and sends a blow to my side.

My eyes find Zac's and he looks worried.

You need to stop doubting yourself

I stand up, making her step back.

We circle one another and I try to ignore the sting in my stomach.

She goes to take the first move again, but I duck, swiping my foot under her feet, making her drop to the ground.

The last bell rings, informing me that the match has ended.

I'm out of breath as I gulp down my water.

I have no idea who won

I immediately get out of the ring and step towards the others that have finished their matches.

"Zac McLain and Josh Ackerson," I hear in the distance.

Josh

He's one of the most skilled boxers I know in our state.

He's been winner of tournaments on the male side for more than four years.

I take a peek at Zac in the ring.

He smiles softly when he sees me.

"Goodluck," I mouth and he grins.

"Just for you, Cupcake," he mouths back.

Rolling my eyes, I clutch my stomach a bit.

I'm sure to have bruises on my body, but I'm used to it all by now.

My eyes flicker up again as soon as the bell rings for him to begin.

I can't watch this
