"Now, for our closing performance, please welcome Hexside's newest student: Luz Noceda!" Everyone cheered. Amity, Boscha, Willow, Skara, and Gus all glanced at each other, shocked looks on their faces. Amity suddenly realized that Ed and Em were missing.

They all watched as Luz made her way out onto the stage, her eyes blinking rapidly. Amity immediately knew that she was nervous from her ticks. She had a purple electric guitar hanging around her neck. Amity watched Gus take out his phone and start recording. Luz approached the mic stand, but didn't say anything. Amity saw Mx. Whispers going to stand at the keyboard. Luz nodded at her and some other people backstage. Luz shut her eyes as the music teacher played a few notes on the piano before Luz struck a chord on her guitar and started to sing.

Amity grinned. She was so proud of Luz for doing this! Even if she hadn't been told about it. Luz had probably been told last minute that she would be doing this. Boscha tapped her on the shoulder and yelled in her ear over the noise.

"Did you know she could play and sing like that?" Amity chuckled and nodded.

"But I didn't know that she was performing today." She said. Amity turned her head back to the stage.

Luz seemed to be gaining some more confidence. She had opened her eyes and was now grinning into the audience. Her movements also became more relaxed and she looked less like a stiff robot. She actually seemed like she was becoming really comfortable up there, like she was born to do this.

"Sing with me, Hexside!" Luz called out as she went into another chorus. Everyone joined in, including Amity. She watched with pride as Luz's eyes were shining with joy.

Luz halted her playing leaving only the keyboard. She sang once more.

The song ended, and the auditorium was silent for about five seconds before a huge wave of cheering and applause rang through. Luz smiled broadly and took a bow as the curtains closed in front of her. As Bump came up to the stage to end the show, Amity ran out of the room and to the backstage area. She saw Luz talking to Mx. Whispers and the twins excitedly. She had put the guitar on a stand in the corner of the room.

"Luz!" Amity called. The Latina turned just in time as Amity tackled her in a huge hug. "That was amazing! I had no idea you could perform like that!" Luz chuckled and rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly.

"Yea, I didn't know I could do that either." Amity smiled and placed a hand on Luz's cheek.

"You're so much more capable than you give yourself credit for." She kissed Luz softly.

"Ahem." They jumped apart. Boscha and the others stood in the doorway, all of them smirking.

"So," Boscha said, leaning against the doorframe and examining her fingernails. "When did this happen?" Amity blushed, but Luz answered bluntly.

"Last week." Everyone looked at her strangely, then broke out laughing. Luz detached herself from Amity and grabbed Mx. Whispers' guitar off the stand. She held it out to them.

"Here, thank you for letting me use it." The music teacher just smiled and gently pushed it back towards Luz.

"Keep it. I haven't used that old girl in years. Besides, you seem like you'll take good care of it." Luz's eyes widened and she tried to hand it back to the teacher.

"N-no. I can't take this. It must've cost a fortune I..." Mx. Whispers cut her off.

"Take it. I insist." Luz thought for a second then smiled.

"Thanks, I promise I'll take good care of if it."
