NOTE: HALIA'S POV

After Ember and Theo left Lake Oldoy, things continued as normal for a period of time. With the hunters and Victoria gone, Wednesday, Al and Kaden went back to school.

Kaden even managed to convince me to go with them. Though it was never hard for him to convince me to do anything. We had reached a point of mutual trust in our relationship; whenceforth I would lie down my life for him if he asked me to do so.

Life went on.

I spent my first Christmas on land. It was Kaden's first Christmas since he was at the mere age of 14, and Wednesday and Al's first Christmas together too. They called it a 'milestone' for all of us.

We had Christmas dinner in Kaden's caravan – a grand affair of vast amounts of good food and gifts exchanged aplenty. I had my first bit of alcohol – eggnog, Kaden called it. Needless to say, I was very good-humoured when Kaden and I went to bed together that night.
