Khalil's Pov
I was in my bed looking at the card the guy gave me it had two numbers on it and a name at the bottom it said Mr.Black.
''I don't think I know anyone with the last name Black, hmm I know the person just to ask'' picking up my phone he answers on the third ring.
''Hey, what's u-''
''Don't hey what's up me, whenever you see me calling you answer on the first ring'' I stated
''I was busy now stop acting like you you got something shoved up your ass''
Taking a deep breath in I said ''I need you to look up someone with the last name black''
''Are you crazy there are tons of people with that last name I need something more to go off on''
''Okay uh he owns a building in the downtown area and he's affiliated with the mafia please let that be enough'' I pleaded
''Yeah that's enough''
''Whew thank God because that's all the information I have'' I sighed out loud
I heard a snicker in the background ''Oh can it Lexi the only thing your brain could remember is your nail appointment''
''Oh no you didn't''
''Oh. yes. I. did''
she was about to go off when Alex chuckled something about me causing him to get killed and he'll call me when he has something
I know when I'm not around they say I've changed or have been acting differently.....ever since he disappeared one night.
No, I can't do this to myself I've lost everything trying to become better and stronger I'm not going to let myself go back into that dark place I just came out of.
quickly I put on my shoes and went out into a nearby park for a run, I was so deep in thought when I heard footsteps behind me. Getting ready to defend myself from any attack a face was shown making me stop in my tracks but narrowed my eyes. ''What the hell are you doing here? are you following me?''
''No I'm not'' he raised his hands up in defense ''I just happened to be going for a run in the same direction'' he says
It was the same guy from the other day
My face drop ''do I look like an idiot to you? because there's no way anyone would believe that lie that just came out your mouth'' I replied raising an eyebrow
''Okay fine I'll show you, there's some friend of mines waiting for me just a block away'' he said grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the direction he pointed.
when we arrived there were actually friends of his there, they introduced themselves and offer us beer ''Okay so maybe you might've been telling the truth'' I leaned to him
he snorts ''Of course I was I have no reason to follow you''
''Sure about that you don't think it was my good looks'' I chuckled leaning away back in my spot
''Yeah I'm sure'' he murmured
I look at him then my beer ''What's your name?'' I asked
he didn't answer so I looked up he was smirking ''I knew that you were going to ask about me, but the name's Cass'' he smiles at the end
''So might I ask your name then since I've already told you mines?'' he asks
''It's Khalil'' I said giving him my hand he took it with ease and smiled
After a while, everyone started wrapping up and gathering their things only Cass and I were left and he had a little too much to drink. I looked on my phone to see I had a text it was most likely from Alex. these days I was barely getting text messages from anyone ever since I lost everything and went AWOL including avoiding all their calls except for Cole's but the thing is I couldn't ignore when he calls because I asked him to help me get stronger but ever since that day he went missing I haven't really talked to the others unless it was for business but I don't blame them for what happened it's just that being there and seeing them reminds me of him too much.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when Cass tripped over air, sighing I began dragging him to my car. Once we were in my car I turned to looked at him as he's currently sitting in the passenger seat.
"Where do you live Cass?" I asked them turned my head back to the road.
"In the ocean" he slurred
I couldn't stop the laughter that came out of my mouth
"What! Dude you gotta be kidding me" I began laughing more
I was so busy laughing that I didn't notice he was staring at me until I looked at him "You're staring at me, why?" I said
"You should laugh more" he smiles
"That's it I'm taking you to my house before end up somewhere in a ditch, just know it's going to be a long ride my friend"
I watch him jump in excitement "gosh I can't wait until you're sober so I can rub this in your face tomorrow"
After a hour we have 30 minutes until we reach to my home "So tell me who do you know here in Italy?" He asks
"What do you ask?"
"Because I can tell that you've only recently been here for four years" he replied
I look at him weirdly "how do you know that?"
"Ever since I was a kid I've just had a good intuition" he laughs
"Cool" I smiled
"So tell me about your friends because if they're your friends that means they got to be pretty cool" he said
"You think I have some high expectations Cass but really I don't I just surround myself around strong, dependable and smart people so if I cannot benefit from you or I don't have an interest in you I promise I won't be around you for too long"
"But the people I hang out with are one of the most amazing people in the world, they can do so many things that I've never seen anyone done before and Cole I don't think anyone can reach up to his level not even me"
"This Cole person it seems you look up to him and the things he's done" Cass stated
"Yeah I do that's why I have him mentoring me"
"Oh really?" He said
"Yeah" I nodded and parked my car "Welcome to my home Cass this maybe your first and last time here"
"It's amazing" he grinned
I gave him a small smile
I've been smiling way too much in one day this is not good
